In She-Hulk episode 7, Jen Walters visits Emil Blonsky aka Abomination’s wellness retreat along with his parole officer. This was because Blonsky’s leg monitor was malfunctioning. Eventually, she decides to stay back for a few more days and try out Emil’s therapeutic strategies. Here she meets a bunch of other supervillains who are also trying to turn over a new leaf and reform themselves with the help of Blonsky. As mentioned before, this included Man-Bull, El Aguila who is NOT a Matador, Porcupine and a man from the Wrecking Crew. One of these villains was the vampire Saracen. Throughout the rest of the episode, all these guys help Jen accept herself and deal with her internal struggles with She-Hulk. The episode focuses on her growth and how she bonds with this fun group of reformed villains.

Who is Saracen in the Marvel comics?

In the Marvel comics, Saracen was the supervillain of the anti-hero, Punisher. He was an international mercenary and had only one job which was to kill Frank Castle. Despite his creepy comments regarding sucking blood in She-Hulk episode 7, Saracen was not actually a vampire in Marvel comics. He was just a really dangerous, highly trained human being called Muzzafar Lambert. There was another Saracen in the Marvel comics however, significantly less known who was supposedly the first vampire on Earth. He is most likely the inspiration for the vampire we see on She-Hulk. Funnily enough, Saracen and Punisher initially started out as allies and even worked together on a mission. In the mission, Saracen was brutally wounded and was even taken to the hospital by none other than Frank Castle aka the Punisher.

However, things quickly change and they become sworn enemies. They have multiple run ins where they viscously fight one another. Saracen eventually went on to work for the Bessucho crime family under American Senator Stan Ori and worked as their hitman. He then killed The Punisher’s only remaining relative and used him lure out Punisher. In retaliation, the Punisher then framed him for the death of the Senator and left him wanted by international authorities. Eventually, the Punisher and Saracen have one final battle against each other. They engaged in a swordfight which finally ended with the death of Saracen at the hands of Punisher. He stabbed Saracen right through his heart and killed him almost instantly.

What are his powers?

He does not have any superpowers so to say. However, he is an extremely skilled combatant in both unarmed and armed combat. He most often wields his swords which are Saracen swords. This is also where he gets his name from. He is an absolutely brilliant mercenary and is highly trained. Saracen is a master tactician and strategist especially with his prolonged experience in the field of espionage. Its not just swords and knives that he uses, he can also use machine guns and a number of other military grade weapons.

Is he Blade’s son?

Is he Blade’s son?

In the Marvel comics, Blade has only one child and that is a daughter. However, a scene from She-Hulk episode 7 has led fans to theorize that Saracen may be Blade’s son. Furthermore, this may be MCU’s way of introducing Blade and the world of vampires to the audience. During the episode, Saracen references his father in one of his lines. Nonetheless, this is most likely just conjecture. Saracen was one of the first vampires on Earth. He is not the same Saracen as the Punisher villain. This Saracen has a demonic servant called the Reaper and he lives under the Vatican. He is a part of a certain kind of vampire who live for extended periods of time and are known as the Ancient. His powers are basically those of any other vampire and that gives him superhuman strength, agility, endurance and even speed.
