MCU fans have been wondering if Disney will include the immensely popular mutants. X-Men have remained outside of Marvel Studios storyline even after Disney’s enormous acquisition of 20th Century Fox. The hype for the animated version of the team’s return in X-Men ’97 on Disney+ next year is undoubtedly growing, their presence in live-action adventures will be the true return of the X-Men.

Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan from Ms. Marvel have already given fans two distinct MCU mutants, yet the mutant saga is only getting started.

Live action Appearance of the mutants may still be some time off, according to one of the MCU’s senior producers, as Marvel Studios continues to expand its vast universe.

Nate Moore, the producer of Black Panther 2, discussed which Marvel characters he would want to see appear in the sequel, as well as the chance that Storm from the X-Men will visit Wakanda. Namor and his submarine nation Talokan are being introduced into the MCU in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Black Panther was originally going to tease Namor, but  Ryan Coogler changed his mind.

The link between Storm and Wakanda in comics is rather fascinating, according to Marvel Producer Nate Moore in an interview. Disney is obviously still a few years away from the X-Men, so he’s not sure if they’ve arrived yet. He believes the bench to be quite deep. He believes that Ta-period Nehisi’s in particular introduced many important characters who would be entertaining to export. Even those who are more Fantastic Four characters, like Vibraxas. But it’s true that the bench is quite deep. Nate believes there are undoubtedly many more tales about Wakanda to be told.

When Will The Mutants Show Up?

The Mutants just received their first formal reference in the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Season 1 finale, but it will still be a few years before any X-Men are highlighted as leading MCU heroes.

With Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3, which even features Hugh Jackman as he takes one last ride as Hugh Jackman with the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool will eventually enter the MCU in late 2024. However, Marvel is much more inclined to wait until it can introduce the Earth-616 Mutants, who will carry the torch for many more years after the Multiverse Saga ends.

During San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced that the company was working on an X-Men film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We haven’t heard a sound since then. The MCU’s portrayal of the X-Men, according to Feige, will be “very different” from 20th Century Fox’s. We’ll just have to wait until Marvel officially reveals how it plans to integrate some of the most well-known Marvel Comics characters into its most expansive movie business yet.
