The People’s Choice Awards were held last night, and it was a fantastic evening for this year’s superhero flicks. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, on the other hand, knocked out The Batman and Top Gun: Maverick to be crowned the best movie of the year.

Fans of comic book movies have had a busy year. For one thing, both Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder received mixed reviews from critics and fans. Then, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever became the most appreciated MCU film since Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In terms of the DC Universe, Dwayne Johnson’s mediocre antihero, Black Adam, performed poorly at the box office. However, Matt Reeves’ The Batman performed admirably, garnering overwhelmingly positive reviews.

Big Win For Marvel

After revealing the Scarlet Witch’s darker side in May 2022, Marvel received best male actor for Chris Hemsworth (Thor: Love and Thunder) and best female actor for Elizabeth Olsen for her role in Doctor Strange 2. Chris Hemsworth beat Dwayne Johnson, Tom Cruise, and Chris Pratt to be named the year’s top action movie star.

Marvel Studios defeated the DC Universe in the People’s Choice Awards (PCAs) in 2022.

The public votes on the awards awarded throughout the PCA.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness received the award for Best Movie of 2022, defeating The Batman.

Bullet Train, Elvis, Jurassic World Dominion, Nope, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Top Gun: Maverick were the other nominations.

While fans believe The Batman was the best superhero film of the year, it appears to have been quickly overlooked. Add to that the amount of drama that has occurred since the change of leadership at Warner Bros. Discovery and the newly created DC Studios, and it’s no surprise that it isn’t at the top of people’s minds.
