Game of Thrones prequel show in which Naomi Watts was acting got cancelled by HBO after pilot episode shoot.

The show was set to show the world of Westeros thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones series. Naomi Watts spoke about the pain she felt after the cancellation of the prequel series.

The shooting of the pilot had finished last year in Northern Ireland and Naomi Watts was set to star along with Josh Whitehouse and showrunner Jane Goldman.

“I’M SORRY,” WATTS SAID OF THE NEWS, ADDRESSING FANS FOR NEWS.COM.AU. “I FEEL YOUR PAIN. I EQUALLY GOT INTO IT. I WASN’T A HUGE FAN AND HADN’T SEEN THE SHOWS UNTIL I WAS HIRED AND THEN COMPLETELY BINGED EVERYTHING WITHIN THE SPACE OF A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND IT’S JUST WONDERFUL.”

She added:

“IT’S A DEEP SHAME, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT FUN. BUT I AM NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE ANYTHING AWAY I’M AFRAID.”

HBO revealed in the press release that the series was set to “chronicle the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.

“FROM THE HORRIFYING SECRETS OF WESTEROS’S HISTORY TO THE TRUE ORIGIN OF THE WHITE WALKERS, THE MYSTERIES OF THE EAST TO THE STARKS OF LEGEND, ONLY ONE THING IS FOR SURE: IT’S NOT THE STORY WE THINK WE KNOW.”

Meanwhile, HBO is currently working for other Game of Thrones prequel titled “House of Dragon”. HBO will start the production and shooting from early 2021 and it will star Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen and Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen.

Recently, HBO released the poster for the series as well which consists of the dragon.

This will showcase the rise of House Targaryen 300 years before the Game of Thrones started. George R.R Martin will be directly involved in the series.
