The Witcher Season 2 is drawing closer to its premiere date. Less than a week remains, and the promotional campaign is constantly fueling the fan excitement. To add, Netflix just released a clip that introduces the audiences to the thrill laying ahead in the upcoming season.

The show returns on Netflix on December 17.

In this particular clip, Princess Ciri, played by Freya Allan, seems to be at the old keep of Kaer Morhen. The fortress is where Witchers of the School of the Wolf were formerly trained. The scene portrays Ciri as she teaches in combat. Allan’s character practices one on one with a gigantic pendulum. In her novice attempts, the princess meets with the ground multiple times. However, with her strength of character, she bounces back. And eventually defeats her swinging enemy.

The critics have already passed on their reviews on the forthcoming season of The Witcher. They are pretty impressive and see positive light. The Witcher Season 2 will follow the story after its Season 1 cliffhanger. In the season 1 finale, Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill, finally crosses paths with Ciri after season-long peril. And after that, he decides to take the responsibility of protecting her.

A new clip featuring Ciri in The Witcher Season 2

Netflix’s latest clip depicts Allam’s character in an entirely new manner. She is no longer the girl running in the woods, trying to find her path. Ciri’s character holds more weight in the new season and is sincere. In fact, Ciri’s character is not portrayed with more grit in the upcoming season. Even Henry Cavill’s Geralt is supposed to have more similarities to the book version. Meaning, the character will uncover more layers of his rooted personality as the show introduces more characters from his past.
