New Moon Knight promotion art is now available on the digital shelves of Amazon. Well, this might indicate that Disney has now kickstarted official promotions for their new show. Disney is well known to always bring out the promotions for their productions, months in advance of most studios. Well, it now does serve the hype of the show approaching fast.

Marvel is currently celebrating the success of No Way Home in 2021 and it just doesn’t stop there. With 2022 being critical to the future of The MCU, new shows, movies are set to release on their announced dates.

Moon Knight, being Marvel’s first show of 2022, will have gore and violent themes. It was clearly predicted that 2022 would be the year where Marvel Studios would be defining a new route of storytelling on how their new characters would be told in the MCU.

Moon Knight, being a very violent character, proves that Marvel is trying to pave the way for the more gore and anti-hero elements of the MCU. With how Eternals did reveal the beginning of heroes like Blade, Black Knight, and NWH setting up for Venom, it surely is going to get bloody, action-packed and the fan nostalgia is about to hit the roof.

Moon Knight’s Egyptian Connections Build The Show

Moon Knight, based on ancient Egyptian mythology, will add a new layer of action and drama to the franchise’s streaming expansion. The Egyptian themes in the MCU will be accompanied by exciting new visuals and a deeper level of narrative.

Despite the fact that only one trailer for Moon Knight has been released, the anticipation is building to an insane level. Marvel Studios’ upcoming streaming entry has the potential to make an impact in a variety of ways, thanks to the first look at Isaac’s mystical costume and hints at Ethan Hawke’s unexplained antagonist.

Marc Spector’s journey to becoming the MCU’s next leading hero will be enhanced by the overarching Egyptian motifs that he will explore.

A new wave of merchandise is focusing on these mythological themes in greater detail as the series approaches its release date.

New Moon Knight Promo Art Reveals Egyptian Themes

T-shirts featuring the new Moon Knight promotional art are now available for purchase on Amazon. Here’s the tweet from the Moon Knight Fan page @CricOut92:

An image of Oscar Isaac as the Moon Knight appears on a t-shirt with a full frontal view. A gold Egyptian scarab sits beneath his bust, and hieroglyphics encircle his head in a circle.

Long-sleeved T-shirts featuring the Moon Knight title card and a picture of the Knight leaping into action are also available for purchase. In the center of two crescent moons, the golden color of Moon Knight’s cape mimics a set of wings on his back.

How Egyptian Themes Set Up The Show

Khonshu, The moon god

It’s possible that the ancient Egyptian mythology that developed Moon Knight’s character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will play a larger role in his MCU debut than previously thought. The hero’s mythical origin story is further emphasized by the use of hieroglyphics and symbols in these two pieces of promotional art.

Director Mohamed Diab, a native Egyptian, will contribute to telling the story of Moon Knight. He expects to keep Isaac as its guiding star in a segment of the series.

The Egyptian Marvel god Khonshu bestows upon Marc Spector, superhuman abilities and a superhero persona, which will come into play once Marc rediscovers his true self. It’s not clear exactly how street-level action is combined with Egyptian mythology, but once Marc takes on the Moon Knight persona, it’ll be evident.

Golden Globe winner, Oscar Isaac delves into the role of Marc Spector in the Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series. He will play the iconic superhero for the first time in live action and is expected to appear in future MCU films. The show’s synopsis states:

The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

Head Writer Jeremy Slater is in charge of developing the script. Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab and the duo of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are directing the episodes.  Gaspard Ulliel and May Calamawy also star in the show along with Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke.

There are only a few months to go before the series premieres on Disney+. The arrival of the promo art should serve as just the beginning. As of now, the only media promo for the show is the Trailer that had been released sometime in the first half of January.

The trailer depicts Steven Grant as a museum curator who experiences visions of The Moon God Khonshu. Khonshu, in the comics is responsible for Steven’s adaptation of Marc Spector/Moon Knight. The trailer racked in a blockbuster number of views and is topping the charts on YouTube.

The show will release on Disney Plus on March 30th.
