Marvel’s Phase 4 has been off to a great start. WandaVision, Loki, The Falcon, and the Winter Soldier, and What If…? have done a solid job of propelling the MCU forward.
Next up are Hawkeye and the 2022 Disney+ show Ms. Marvel. The latter is all set to introduce the teenage superhero Kamala Khan to the MCU and to the world.
Ms. Marvel will pave the way for Kamala to join her idol and fave Captain Marvel. The cosmic superhero and the new fledgling superhero will be seen again in The Marvels.
Right now, we don’t know how the MCU will choose to portray her origin story. But people are surely interested in knowing how the cinematic universe will be portraying her superpowers in live-action.
In the pages of Marvel comics, Kamala Khan has been portrayed as having embiggening powers and elastic abilities. However, it looks like Disney+ might be changing this.
New Ms. Marvel Merch Released

Pyramid International has released two new pictures of Ms. Marvel’s licensed merchandise. One of these pictures is a poster titled “Ms. Marvel (Crystal Smash).” It shows Kamala Khan in her full Ms. Marvel costume displaying her powers.
The second picture is of a badge pack called “Ms. Marvel (Hero With Heart).” That badge pack has 5 brand new designs from the upcoming Disney+ show.
The middle badge has a close-up of Kamala with a very artistically stylized background and costume. There is another badge that has the writing, “I ❤️ Kamala” on it.
New Kind Of Powers For Ms. Marvel In The MCU?

Right now, thanks to the new pictures, it can be said that the MCU is going to be shaking up Ms. Marvel’s powers. From the looks of it, Ms. Marvel’s powers seem to resemble the powers of DC’s Green Lantern. The Green Lantern Corps have construct-type powers.
And it seems like MCU’s Kamala Khan’s powers will look like that rather than the classic elasticity powers that the character has in the comics. It’s not clear why Marvel is making this change.
Many people are speculating that it could be due to story or perhaps budget reasons. However, it doesn’t look like the MCU will be skimping out on the budget at all. So it’s probably due to story reasons, or maybe the elasticity powers didn’t look great onscreen in live-action.
Also, it’s possible that MCU wants Ms. Marvel’s powers more in line with the style of Monica Rambeau’s Photon and Carol Danvers’ Captain Marvel so that they match during The Marvels.

The badge pictures also give hints regarding the themes and style of the upcoming Disney+ show. Kamala Khan is a well-known superhero fan, and the teaser footage has shown just how much she loves paying tribute to the heroes she loves.
It looks like we will be seeing this kind of sketchbook style throughout the series. Since Kamala Khan is a teenager so it’s definitely possible that Ms. Marvel will be a young-adult-friendly show that deals with themes like friendship and family. And the merchandise does reflect that.
However, we still have to wait for the show to release or for promotion to start to actually know what was the reason behind changing her powers in live-action.
Ms. Marvel will release on Disney+ in 2022.
