If there’s a show that Star Wars fans are hyped for after Obi-Wan Kenobi, then it’s the Ahsoka show. Fans were already excited about Ahsoka Tano’s Disney+ show after it was confirmed that Hayden Christensen will be reprising his role as Anakin/Darth Vader.

Also, Togruta’s appearance in episode 6 of The Book of Boba Fett and her interaction with Luke made fans anticipate her show even more. Anakin’s former padawan was first introduced to Star Wars in The Clone Wars animated movie and television show.

After that, she appeared in Rebels before finally appearing in live-action in The Mandalorian, played by Rosario Dawson. In The Mandalorian, Ahsoka was after a Magistrate. She wanted to know from her about Grand Admiral Thrawn.

This made fans assume that the villain will play a major role in the upcoming solo show of the Togruta. Now, we are just a few months away from Ahsoka beginning production. And it looks like fans were right- Thrawn will play a major role in the Disney+ show.

Details Of Thrawn’s Debut Revealed

Variety reported that Ray Stevenson has been cast in the Disney+ show as an Admiral. But the report clarified that he wasn’t playing Grand Admiral Thrawn, who was going to be the main villain of the show.

This news confirmed what film scooper DanielRPK had previously reported about the show’s premise and casting.

Thrawn was a beloved character from Star Wars Legends. Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn Trilogy cemented his status as a great character. Since he is from the Chiss species, he has a humanoid appearance.

However, he also has red eyes and blue skin. The Chiss strategist is cunning and smart. His calculating mind is a contrast to the kind of Imperial officers we get in Star Wars movies. This makes him a powerful adversary.

Lucasfilm Executive Dave Filoni eventually canonized Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. But the finale of the show left Thrawn, as well as Ezra Bridger’s fate, unknown.

In July 2021, there was a rumor that Lars Mikkelson had been cast as Thrawn, with Mena Massoud as Ezra Bridger. We don’t know whether this is true or not.

But no matter who plays these characters, this will be the first time the characters will be seen in live-action.

Luke Skywalker vs. Thrawn?

Grand Admiral Thrawn’s role in Ahsoka won’t be the first time an animated villain has been brought into live-action. That distinction goes to Cad Bane, who we just saw in the penultimate and ultimate episodes of The Book of Boba Fett.

So Thrawn will be the next character to make the jump. But unlike Bane in the Boba Fett show, Thrawn is supposedly going to be the main villain in the Ahsoka show. So this means that he should get more screen time compared to Bane.

This also means that Ezra Bridger will be there as well. Now, there are many theories about how Ahsoka is actually searching for Ezra. However, her appearance in The Book of Boba Fett didn’t reveal much about her next plans.

But her exchange with Luke Skywalker did hint at a future meeting between the two. After all, their conversation clearly hints at the fact that this wasn’t their first meeting.

Many fans are already theorizing that Anakin was the one who led them to each other. No matter how, we all would love to see more of Luke and Ahsoka. And with Ezra in the mix now, this would potentially allow for Luke to cross paths with Thrawn, just like it happened in the Thrawn novels.

 debuts on Disney+ in 2023.
