Spider-Man: No Way Home is the biggest movie of 2021, and it has already broken a bunch of records to become one of the biggest blockbusters of all time.

Fans have flooded theaters since it was released to watch Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire, and Tom Holland’s Spiderman team up to defeat the multiversal villains.

Overall, the third Spider-Man movie in the MCU managed to deliver a solid plot with emotional weight while also adding in the fanservice components, i.e., Andrew and Tobey’s Spideys. And in doing so, they lived up to the hype.

No Way Home is filled to the brim with amazing moments for fans. It features stellar moments like Garfield’s Spider-Man redeeming himself by saving Zendaya’s MJ, and Willem Dafoe’s Norman Osborn finally succumbing to the Green Goblin persona.

The hype for the movie paid off when the three heroes joined forces in the movie. When trailers for the movie were being released, fans could discern that the Statue of Liberty was going to be the site of the climactic battle in No Way Home.

And that happened in the movie.

But, how that final fight went down was simply one of the wildest comic book moments come true. As the movie continues to mint money at the box office, fans are finally getting a look at the earliest ideas for this final battle and how it all came together.

Spider-Man: No Way Home concept artist Maciej Kuciara shared an official image featuring Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland’s heroes in the final battle of the movie.

In the concept art, we can see the Statue of Liberty, complete with all the renovations, like adding Captain America’s shield to the outstretched arm of the statue.

Also, on each of the spikes of the crown are the three Spiderman, with Garfield on the right; Maguire on the left, and Holland in the middle.

In the movie we saw in theaters, all of them swung up to Lady Liberty’s head as the trio got ready to fight the Lizard, Electro, and Sandman. However, we didn’t see them on each of the spikes.

So it’s clear that things were changed from the concept art to the final product. Kuciara included this caption on his pic:

“One of many frames I worked on for Spiderman: No Way Home together with my buddy @okon_marek who built this amazing set (iterated for purpose of each concept art).”

Tom Holland shared plenty of amazing moments with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in their short time together in the movie. Together they made a science team to create cures for the villains.

However, it was pretty amazing when he first met them after they were introduced through the Sling Ring. But none of these scenes made the impact that the final battle scene did with the picture-perfect shot of the three heroes fighting side-by-side.

We don’t know at what stage of production this design was thought of. But it’s clear that from the beginning the final fight was going to take place on the Statue of Liberty.

In the final cut of the movie, the scene was perfectly shot and edited as the humor, drama, action, and more that came from Tobey, Tom, and Andrew, coalesced into a perfect moment.

As Spider-Man: No Way Home moves further into its theatrical run and the embargo for showing behind-the-scenes pics and videos lifts, we will likely see more such art and stuff that were kept secret since production began on the movie.

Whether more will be revealed about the variations in the final battle sequence remains to be seen. But even just this piece is enough to make fans think about just how incredible that scene was on screen.
