The Biggest wild card in the Star Wars universe is none other than our very own Baby Yoda, who just broke the internet upon his introduction. We also have his name now, after the Mandalorian season. It is Grogu. Although, that’s pretty much it because his past has not been revealed so far, not just to the fans. Even, Grogu is not familiar with it.
The Mandalorian season three is inevitable, but it is in the distant future. So there is no scope of knowing more about our favorite youngling until a new Book just dropped out of nowhere. The new Star Wars book just does not explain the past; it might confirm a popular fan theory of Grogu.
The new book we are talking about is “Star Wars: Secrets of the Sith”. This is going to be a follow-up book to the earlier one, “Secrets of the Jedi”, which came to us in November 2019. Yes!!! you guessed it right, the same day the Universe gifted us one of the greatest shows ever The Mandalorian. The most intriguing chapter from the pages of that book was “Star Wars Lore: The Force Dyad”.
So far the most popular Force Dyad for the Star Wars universe is undoubtedly the pair of Kylo Ren and Rey. They are connected indelibly through the Force within the present movie trilogy. Although Mandalorian hinted that Grogu might be a Dyad too, if it is true, then who has he paired with?. Yes, the answer has an awesome possibility, it could be one of the best and iconic individuals from the Star Wars Universe. Can you guess who we are talking about?
A post on Reddit revealed a part from “Star Wars: Secret of the Sith”, which goes as; “Members of a dyad were believed to be capable of transferring their life force to heal others”. Now let’s put together some pieces. Kylo Ren was able to transfer his life force within Rey in the “Rise of Skywalker” ending part. This particular scene is almost preceded by a scene from the Mandalorian.
I know, if you are not a Star Wars fan, which you should, but If you are not quite there. It can confuse you, you might not remember the introduction to “Force Healing”. It was in the 7th episode from the Mandalorian first season. Grogu used his “Force Healing” to cure Karga after he got attacked and injured by the flying reptiles. Interestingly this specific episode just aired two days prior to the premiere of “The Rise of Skywalker”.
So as the “Secret of the Sith” has revealed that only the members of the Force dyad are capable of using Force heal, thus the fan theory is true. Grogu is a member of Force Dyad.
The question remains the same, and then who is Grogu’s Partner. Let’s check the available back-story. Grogu and Anakin Skywalker were born in the same year. For non-fans, this might be a coincidence, but fans know that coincidence like this is as rare as “Slip’N Slides on Tatooine”. So that makes Anakin the partner of Grogu of the Force Dyad. This can also justify the foggy memory of Grogu, I mean the half of a bond or dyad has passed away, you are allowed to be a little foggy.
So anyway, this theory can have huge implications within the Star Wars universe and The Mandalorian. Tying Grogu with Anakin can also be a good plot point, this can justify the caring nature of Grogu towards Luke Skywalker. Also in further stories, Luke can explore more of Grogu’s past and gather information about his estranged father. Also, screw these technical possibilities, the real game-changers are that this theory kinda confirms that sooner or later Darth Vader will bless our screen.
