Disney releases a new The Book of Boba Fett clip showing Boba Fett recovering from the Sarlacc in Return of the Jedi.

The Mandalorian was created by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau and directed by Robert Rodriguez. The plot follows the titular bounty hunter and his assassin, Fennec Shand, searching for dominance after Jabba the Hutt’s death in Return of the Jedi.

Temuera Morrison returns as Boba Fett after resurrecting him in the last episodes of The Mandalorian season 2, and Ming-Na Wen returns as Fennec from prior seasons of the core Star Wars series. Rodrigo Rodriguez, who resurrected Fett in The Mandalorian, returns as a co-director on several series episodes with Favreau and Bryce Dallas Howard. The Book of Boba Fett began filming in late 2020 and will air in December 2021.

The New Trailer

Disney has released a new Book of Boba Fett video one month before the show premieres. The movie also shows how Boba Fett recovered from the Sarlacc in Return of the Jedi. Watch the latest trailer:

Since Boba Fett’s actual reappearance in The Mandalorian season 2, fans have been curious how he survived the Sarlacc encounter. The new Book of Boba Fett teaser doesn’t provide a definitive explanation, but it does show how he seems to have recovered and healed. It’s most likely that the Tusken Raiders of the desert planet Tatooine rescued or helped nurse Fett back to health after he escaped the Sarlacc in the video.

Din Djarin learns their sign language and enlists their help in fighting the krayt dragon of season 2’s premiere, “The Marshal,” in The Mandalorian. Because The Book of Boba Fett is set on Tatooine, the Tusken Raiders will likely play a role in the plot. This will be revealed when the series premieres on Disney+ on December 29.
