The DC fandom has been celebrating ever since it was announced that Henry Cavill is coming back as Superman and that a new Superman movie is in the works. But along with the joyous celebrations, there are some questions left unanswered as well. The major question is- will Amy Adams return as Lois Lane? And now we finally have an answer from the actress herself.

During an interview with Variety at the premiere of her movie Disenchanted, Amy Adams was asked about Henry Cavill‘s return as Superman. She excitedly said:

“Isn’t it exciting? I think I got to know from my husband (Darren Le Gallo) about it. I’m thrilled for [Cavill]. He’s such a wonderful Superman so I’m very excited for him.”

When asked if she will return as Lois Lane in the new DCU she said:

“They haven’t spoken to me about it. If it’s me, great. If it’s somebody else, the role of Lois has been filled by so many wonderful actresses in the past so I’ll support whatever direction they go.”

Will Lois Lane Be Included In The New Superman Movie?

When we saw Cavill in Black Adam’s mid-credits scene, he was wearing the same suit and emblem that he had during Man of Steel. So it definitely feels like he’s the same Superman we saw in Zack Snyder’s DC movies. As such, if a Superman movie is made then it makes sense to assume for now that Lois Lane will be a part of it.

And since Lois was played by Amy Adams, so ideally she should be in the movie as well. Even though Adams hasn’t been contact yet by the higher ups, but that isn’t any reason to believe that she won’t be requested later on to reprise the role.

After all, development on the new Superman movie is still in its early stages with some reports saying that there isn’t even a writer attached. So there’s no reason to believe that she won’t be back.
