Introducing a new generation of characters, including heroes like Kate Bishop, Ironheart, Skaar, and America Chavez, took up a significant part of Phase 4. Many fans seem to believe Marvel Studios is setting up the Young Avengers to unite, but as time goes on, the actors portraying them grow older!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has long been teasing The Young Avengers. Ms. Marvel, Kid Loki, Wiccan, and Speed were just a few of the new characters introduced to the superhero genre in Phase 4. All of them were seen as the MCU’s potential future stars.

As more young faces have been introduced as young heroes, so have expectations that the MCU will bring all of these characters together. Many people now think that Marvel is striving to bring the Young Avengers into the world of live action. The Young Avengers are a group that appears in comic books.

However, given recent reports, it appears extremely doubtful that this team would be introduced into the MCU. This is most likely due to Marvel Studios’ interest in the future.

How Soon Will The Young Avengers Unite?

In an interview with Inverse, Stephen Broussard, the producer of the next Ant-Man film, provided a disheartening update on the Young Avengers project.

Broussard mentioned that one of Phase 4’s major focuses was introducing the “next generation” of Marvel superheroes:

“A lot of Phase Four was about introducing the next generation and introducing new characters.”

In addition, he remarked, making reference to Cassie Lang turning into a superhero:

I think that’s one of the themes that the next generation reminds us of and that would be exciting to explore with Cassie going forward, or with any of the new characters, like Kate Bishop.”

Although Broussard’s final message dashed the fans’ hopes of seeing the Young Avengers soon, it also gave them optimism. In his concluding remarks, Broussard made a strong implication that these young superheroes will eventually make up a new Avengers team without the “Young,” adding:

People like [Cassie and Kate Bishop], who have inherited the mantle, and keeping to fight the fight, and make the world a better place.”

The Young Avengers’ Debut Is Unavoidable

Even though recent sources claim that the Young Avengers project isn’t in the works, this doesn’t imply that it will never happen.

As the Multiverse saga is currently in full swing, executives will be seeking to plan the future of the brand once Kang the Conqueror has been brought to justice. Fans are aware that Marvel has planted the seeds for a Young Avengers team-up in the MCU.

There have been several hints throughout. Josh Horowitz of MTV News questioned Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, about the absence of a Young Avengers announcement last year.
The Marvel executive hinted at a Young Avengers initiative in the future, with the new characters introduced in Phase 4 “creating their own cliques.”
Another clue was that in April 2005, the characters showed up in the “Civil War: Young Avengers/Runaways” 4-issue miniseries, which was related to the conflict. They also have some storylines tied to Secret Invasion; thus the upcoming Marvel Studios series that adapts this narrative arc may reveal more about the group’s future and its future formation.
It’s only a matter of time before this happens. The next Avengers team-up won’t happen for a while, but Phase 5 is quickly approaching, so there might be some hints about the outcome of this next-generation team-up sooner than many might expect.
