Andrew Garfield appeared as a part of Spidey-Trio in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Several rumors suggested the actor would reprise his Peter Parker role for the first time since The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in No Way Home. He kept this role a secret from his fans before the release of the movie on 16 December 2021. Although he was openly promoting The Eyes of Tammy Faye and tick, tick… BOOM!. Despite the leaked pictures of him on set, he lied about being involved in this MCU blockbuster.
Spider-Man: No Way Home’s release finally pulled the curtain off Andrew Garfield’s well-kept mystery. With Him, Tobey Maguire, and Tom Holland, the MCU packed decades of web-slinging fun into one movie. Garfield’s version of the character has gained widespread popularity online, and Sony has been called on to make The Amazing Spider-Man 3. There are currently no official plans for Garfield’s return, but he has shown his willingness to do so.
Andrew recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he admitted this was a wonderful year for him. Garfield finally confessed there were a few people he told about the secret he kept about No Way Home. “My dad, my brother, and my mother at the time,” he said. “Yeah, just kind of us.”
To tell the truth, Andrew’s role in Spider-Man: No Way Home was not the best-kept secret. Pretty much everyone knew he was involved in the film. Even then, fans were really enthusiastic about his role and they received it in a cheery mood. He mischievously admitted that lying about the role was pretty fun. Andrew was so keen on keeping this secret safe, he even lied to Emma Stone, his co-star in Amazing Spider-Man. Albeit his family were the only people he opened up about this. Of course, he didn’t want to lie to them about this.
Andrew Garfield feels pretty thrilled about how the movie turned out to be. He is pleased with it and that is all that ultimately counts. It is no skeleton in the cupboard that his experience with The Amazing Spider-Man films was bitter-sweet. But in the end, it seems he has found his joyous redemption with No Way Home.
