She-Hulk has just disclosed Wong’s non-Mystic Arts everyday gig.

During the third episode of She-Hulk, titled “The People vs. Emil Blonsky,” a website similar to LinkedIn is seen, exposing Wong’s regular employment before he became engaged in the Mystical Arts. In the chapter, lawyer best friend Nikki Ramos helps She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters find the current sorcerer supreme of the MCU on the internet. Fans with a sharp sense may have recognized Wong’s career arc in the MCU adaptation of the character.

If we follow Wong’s Linked-In profile, the reigning Sorcerer Supreme was serving as a librarian who was entrusted with safeguarding the ancient book and spells residing in Kamar-Taj, Nepal, which if fallen into wrong hands could wreak chaos and mass destruction as seen in the first Doctor Strange movie.

Unexpectedly, he also spent around a decade as a Target sales assistant within the same town. Many viewers were surprised by the swift transformation from store employee to library to Sorcerer Supreme, however many did appreciate the subtle Easter egg.

The Wong Isn’t Going Anywhere, He’s Here To Stay

The sorcerer supreme has appeared in many Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase 4 films, notably Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as well as Spider-Man: No Way Home (where Benedict Wong had a cameo appearance). The current She-Hulk episode relies largely on his appearance in the mid-credits sequence of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Surprisingly, the Sorcerer Supreme had already featured in a Detergent advertisement with Marvel before the former joined him in the Multiverse of Madness. Wong’s Target employment background in the Disney Plus miniseries also looks to be a tribute to the alliance and commercial engagement involving Disney and Target.

While Wong’s visit is certainly a fun surprise, that’s not all that Episode 3 of She-Hulk has in store. The episode finally confirmed weeks of speculation by introducing American artist Megan Thee Stallion as she would appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In Season 3, Episode 3, Megan Thee Stallion is in the heart of a case alleging an Asgardian prankster imitating the artist. The artist is featured prominently in the episode’s post-credit sequence when she instructs She-Hulk in the fine art of twerking.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who gains superpowers and transforms into the eponymous She-Hulk. Some of the show’s most popular figures are the ones played by Mark Ruffalo, such as Bruce Banner/Hulk, who serves as a mentor and coach to Walters throughout the miniseries. It has been announced that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil will make an appearance in a later season which also opens the possibility of a Kingpin cameo.
