Obi-Wan Kenobi is definitely the most anticipated Disney+ show right now. After all; Ewan Mcgregor and Hayden Christensen being in one series is just a recipe for success. To hype up the show more, Lucasfilm recently announced the full major cast of the show. Also, they announced that they will be beginning production soon.
Fans were pleasantly surprised to know that Ewan Mcgregor and Hayden Christensen were not the only people who were returning for the show. Lucasfilm announced that Bonnie Piesse and Joel Edgerton were returning as Luke Skywalker’s Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen.
Along with this, the cast of Obi-Wan Kenobi includes Kumail Nanjiani (who will be recently seen in Marvel’s The Eternals), O’Shea Jackson Jr (of Straight Outta Compton), Sung Kang (from Fast and Furious) and more. With this set cast, production will begin in April itself.
In fact, just a few days ago there was a leaked set video that showed possible Tatooine sets getting made. So production is definitely set to begin soon.
One unique reveal regarding the cast was Moses Ingram (of The Queen’s Gambit) joining the show. It was said that she will be playing an important role in the show. We know that the cast names that were released will be playing the main roles. The only question is what roles will they be playing.
While we don’t know the character that Ingram will be portraying. But we do know that she will be wielding a lightsaber (perhaps alongside Obi-Wan and Vader too!). In a recent Instagram post, the actress posted the photo used in the Star Wars official post and captioned it as:
“I play with lightsabers. ”

So we know for now that Kenobi and Vader will not be the only lightsaber wielders. But the even bigger question is- will Ingram be playing an established or new character? Honestly, we won’t know till there’s a trailer at least.
However, we do think that the show could certainly do with some more force users. After all, it will be really interesting to see a force user battling alongside Vader and Kenobi. After all, in Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: A New Hope, it was said that the Jedi were a breed who were dying out. In fact, The Force was thought of as religious and outdated.
But in Star Wars: Fallen Order video game and in the animated show called Star Wars: Rebels, it was shown that there were a lot more force users than just the Skywalkers. A good example of this is Ahsoka Tano. After all, she survived Order 66 and even more. Hell, she lived to see Grogu as well. Now that’s just impressive.
But what we want to say is that the number of Force users increased in-between Star Wars: Revenge of The Sith and A New Hope. However, Obi-Wan just didn’t let Luke know about this when they were on Tatooine. So it’s possible that Ingram will be playing one of those characters who is a Force used.
So if Ingram joins the two heavyweights for the ‘rematch of the century’ (as said by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, then it will just make the fight more executing. Honestly, we can’t wait for 2022 to arrive and for the show to premiere.
