If there’s one highly anticipated Disney+ Star Wars show then it’s definitely Obi-Wan Kenobi. But not much is known about the plot of the show or even the characters who will fully appear in it. But Disney isn’t keeping fans in the dark any longer as Lucasfilm has released a production start timeline as well as revealed all the actors who will be in the show. So let us get to know more about it.
When Is Obi-Wan Kenobi Beginning Production?
Lucasfilm has officially announced that their Obi-Wan Kenobi show will begin shooting from April 2021. Obviously, we don’t know the exact date but no matter what, this just means that production will begin next month itself.
Along with this, it was also revealed that Obi-Wan Kenobi will take place a decade after Revenge of the Sith. After all, it is due to the events of that movie that Obi-Wan hides on Tatooine.
Lucasfilm Reveals Cast List For Obi-Wan Kenobi
Apart from the above production and plot details, Lucasfilm also revealed the official casting list as well. It had 12 actors on it and all of them will most probably be playing prominent parts in the series.
In the announced cast list, we already know that Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen are coming back as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker respectively. Joining them will be Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars too.
But that’s not all. The cast list also had comedian Kumail Nanjiani who will be making a splash in Marvel’s upcoming movie The Eternals. Along with him Indira Varma (Games of Thrones) and O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton) are also joining the show.
But that’s not all. Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Rupert Friend, Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie are also joining the show.
What Characters Are These Actors Playing?
Lucasfilm hasn’t announced the roles of these actors. We just know that Christensen and McGregor are resuming their roles as Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi respectively.
However, since Lucasfilm released the names of just these actors so it makes sense that they will be playing important parts. But the question is- how important are their characters to Obi-Wan? That remains to be seen. But all production is set to begin soon and we are hoping for some set pics to shed some more light on the show.
