May 25 is going to be a historic day for Star Wars fans. After all, the Disney+ show Obi-Wan Kenobi is going to premiere then. There’s not much plot information given out about the show, but that hasn’t stopped the hype train from moving forward in full force.

Recently, Lucasfilm released the first official poster for the Disney+ show. It highlighted the vast sandy stretches of Tatooine and the little figure of a battle-weary Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Apart from the sizzle reel at last year’s Disney+ Day, nothing else has been released in terms of footage yet. But maybe less truly is more since this has hyped-up fans, and they are excited to see the rematch of the century between Darth Vader and Kenobi.

The cast of the show is stacked as well, even apart from Hayden Christensen. Now, it looks like this cast is all set to grow as a new report has spoiled the comeback of a key Prequel Trilogy supporting character.

Making Star Wars has revealed that Jimmy Smits has been roped in to reprise his role as Senator Bail Organa in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series coming to Disney+ in May 2022.

This will be the 4th appearance of Jimmy Smits after portraying Senator Organa in Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and Rogue One.

It was reported that Smits had filmed with Ewan McGregor on the sets. However, we don’t know the extent of his role.

We know that little Leia has reportedly been cast in the Obi-Wan Kenobi show. So it makes sense that the show has brought in Jimmy Smits’ Bail Organa.

Bail Organa played a major role in Episode II and Episode III. He took custody of Leia as a baby and raised her as his own on Alderaan. He was also in the Rogue One movie that connected the Prequel Trilogy with the Original.

There his character became an important part of Skywalker’s legacy. The major thing to keep in mind is that he is one of the very few people who knows the truth about Luke and Leia’s location after Episode III.

Senator Organa also knows that Yoda is in his self-imposed exile in the Dagobah system. As such, he is a valuable asset to anyone working for the Empire.

We don’t know what his role is in the Kenobi show. But he will certainly be looking out for the kids, just like Obi-Wan will be. Organa’s ties to the Skywalker family are as deep as anyone else’s.

This meant that he could be a major character appearing in multiple episodes. Or he could end up being one of the major cameos that helped push the plot of the show forward.

Regardless of his role, it looks like Obi-Wan Kenobi will have deep ties to the Prequel Trilogy. Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to premiere on Disney+ on May 25, 2022.
