By the end of this year’s San Diego Comic-con, we had a whole new bunch of upcoming titles at our hand for the Marvel Cinematic Universe released by Kevin Feige, The President of Marvel Studios.

From Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, ending phase 4 of the MCU, to two new Avengers films, ‘The Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Secret Wars’, coming out under phase 6, winding it all up, under one title “The Multiverse Saga”. After seeing a pattern of sagas throughout the phases of the MCU, a new rumor has been going around, in which fans speculate the next saga of the MCU.

According to the rumors, Kevin Feige plans the next saga of the MCU to be called ‘The Mutant Saga”. With the mutants being introduced in the MCU at the end of “The Multiverse Saga”. Which is reportedly being worked on by MCU.

Have The Mutants Been Introduced Yet?

Earlier this year we got our first possible hint at the existence of the mutants in the MCU, in the Disney Plus show “Ms. Marvel”.

Not only this, ‘Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness’ also introduced Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier aka Professor X, who was later killed off by The Scarlet Witch.

Scarlet witch and Quicksilver who have long been the part of X-Men in the comics were also introduced in Avengers Age of Ultron, but with twisted backstories, taking them far away from their X-Men Origins.

Both of them in the comics turn out to be the children of Eric Lensherr aka Magneto, so was the case in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men movie series, where Pietro turns out to be the son of Eric Lensherr.

‘WandaVision’ reintroduced Quicksilver into the MCU, but this time it was Evan Peters’ Quicksilver, who fans speculated was an opening for Fox’s X-Men to enter the MCU, But it too turned out to be another joke made off by Marvel.

How Will The Mutants Be Introduced Into The MCU?

In the San Diego Comic-con this year, Kevin Feige introduced us to Marvel’s first Mutants production, an animated series named ‘X-men’97’.

X-Men’97 is supposed to be a continuation to the 30-year-old Marvel show X-Men The Animated Series and picks up right at where it ended.

It’s still not confirmed whether X-Men’97 is canon to the MCU or not.

The Writer Of The Show Hints On The Show Being Canon

In an interview, Beau DeMayo, the head writer and executive producer of X-Men’97 hinted the show to be MCU canon.

When asked about it, he says “I’m gonna go with no comments here because part of the surprise will be finding that out when you experience the show”.

As seen in the past few years, we’ve realized that “no comments” in reality means a yes, be it Andrew Garfield’ Spiderman No way Home cameo, or John Krasinski’s Doctor Strange cameo.
