Artists from the film have shared their work on social media, revealing concept art from the development phase of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Aleksi Briclot’s early concept art of Kang, created before Jonathan Majors’ casting, showcases a more sinister version of the character with intense, unsettling eyes.
Kang Concept Art By Pietro Nume And Thomas du Crest
Pietro Nume painted keyframes of Kang veiled in shadows with glowing eyes and another of him on the offensive. Production designer Will Htay also shared Nume’s epic depiction of Kang descending to battle Quantum forces. Additionally, concept artist Thomas du Crest illustrated Kang during the climactic battle and in his damaged time chair.
Kang the Conqueror’s Growing Role In The MCU
Marvel Studios has plans to make Kang the Conqueror a significant antagonist in the MCU. The character’s power is displayed in Quantumania, particularly after regaining his advanced suit in a flashback sequence. The suit bestows him with abilities such as gravity manipulation and energy blasts. The movie’s mid-credits scene also reveals numerous Kang Variants intent on wreaking havoc, and the second season of Loki will introduce a dangerous Kang called Victor Timely. With a plethora of Kang designs available, it remains to be seen if the creepy early concept art will ever appear on screen.
