Right now The Mandalorian is one of the biggest pop culture sensations in the world. As such it’s expected that famous actors will want to join in on the fun. Now, word on street is that a famous actor could very well be joining the show. 

Want to know who that is? We have heard that this actor appeared in some Disney movies. But jokes apart, we won’t keep you in suspense any longer.

Robert Downey Jr. Could Be Showing Up In The Mandalorian

It’s being said that MCU’s Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. could be appearing in The Mandalorian. Considering the fact that Jon Favreau directed Iron Man as well, so it makes sense that RDJ would be interested in working with him again. 

Where Would RDJ Fit In The Star Wars Universe? 

But the question is- how would RDJ fit in the Star Wars world? After all, what role would he be playing? If you are wondering about this as well then WDW Pro of Pirates and Princesses seems to have the answer for you. 

They claim that Downey Jr. is working with Favreau on a sort of “Favreau-Filoni Star Wars cinematic universe.” So it looks like Robert Downey Jr. could be showing up in one of the spin-offs of The Mandalorian. 

It’s also being said that his role won’t be a one-off thing and instead it will be recurring with chances for long-term involvement. 

What Character Will He Be Portraying? 

WDW Pro of Pirates and Princesses writes that the role would be different from that of Tony Stark or Iron Man. This makes sense since RDJ would be interested in doing something different after playing Iron Man for so long in the MCU.  

But that’s not all. The scooper says that there could be an appearance change as well. So it’s possible that the former-iron man will be playing an alien villain in the spin-off show. 

Now, if you ask us, he could be playing one specific villain who has a different colour and is set to appear in a spin-off show of The Mandalorian. That villain is Grand Admiral Thrawn. It’s also very much possible that Robert Downey Jr. could take up that role. 

Thrawn was voiced in Star Wars Rebels by Lars Mikkelsen. He was mentioned during season 2 of The Mandalorian and it was further said that Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) was tailing him. So if he did show up in live-action then it’s definitely in the Ahsoka spin-off show. 

Filming on The Mandalorian season 3 will begin soon so it’s possible that the cast for Ahsoka is getting finalized right now. If RDJ ends up being Thrawn then it will excite and surprise many fans. After all, many of them were missing Downey Jr. and wanted him to return to blockbusters. But will this actually happen? That remains to be seen.
