It will take some time before fans can sit down and enjoy Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Until then, MCU fans can gear up for the James Gunn directed holiday special premiering this Christmas.

Fans are aware that one of the heroes in the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel will probably pass away. While some fans do not want Rocket to die, they should not be shocked if he does.

Guardians of the Galaxy 1 featured Groot, while Guardians of the Galaxy 2 featured Yondu sacrificing themselves for the greater good. We might witness a major character’s death in order to give this story greater impact. A main character typically passes away after fulfilling their objective . Rocket’s storyline will reportedly come to an end in the upcoming film, so what better way to wrap things up for him than to make the ultimate sacrifice for the team ?

Rocket’s Death In The Comics

Rocket has many galactic escapades in the comic books. He and Groot, for instance, go to Halfworld some time after the Guardians split up. In the comic books, the character also loses his life.

Rocket embarks on an operation to eliminate Doctor Spectrum. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned, and Rocket loses the battle and dies.

Doctor Spectrum grabs Rocket’s body and throws him directly into a supernova as he is being overpowered by the aggressive attack. As soon as he is pressed up towards the blazing star, Rocket’s face melts off, and he soon falls victim to Spectrum.

In my opinion, the ideal candidate for sacrifice is Rocket. Gamora and Quill will probably meet up again. Mantis and Drax are both currently in the development stage. Groot is still a teen and is still growing. Nebula still needs to track down her sister. Rocket is the only remaining Guardian who will sacrifice his life for his teammates.

Gunn has made it clear that, of all the guardians, Rocket is the one with whom he most easily identifies. The director has a special place in his heart for Rocket, and he is undoubtedly excited to wrap up his story in the next Guardians adventure. There is also reason to think that the movie will expand on Rocket’s past, wrapping up any remaining loose threads. This would make logical sense for the series to wrap up Rocket’s arc after learning everything there is to know about him. Gunn will have to put Rocket to the test in order to accomplish this. This may be the reason he insisted on finishing Rocket’s arc in the MCU.
