We’re not far away from the release of the Star Wars spinoff series Andor. Star Wars Andor comes to Disney Plus on September 21, 2022, with its first three episodes.

Ahead of its release, we have another piece of news at our hands, i.e., the re-release of the original trilogy’s prequel, Star Wars Rogue One, returning to theatres in the US, on August 26, 2022.

Why Is Disney Re-Releasing Rogue One?

Rogue One

Star Wars Rogue One has been one of Disney’s best Star Wars films, being the second highest-grossing film after Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens.

It’s been criticized for its CGI of bringing back to life Grand Moff Tarkin as well as Princess Leia. Despite that, fans still consider it to be the best star wars film to date.

Why wouldn’t Disney want to bring back its blockbuster to the big screen for the fans to relive it, ahead of its upcoming prequel spin-off series. A smart way to make the fans re-watch and feel & love the characters again.

How Is Andor Related To Rogue One?

Andor revolves around the character Captain Cassian Andor, who we got to see in Star Wars Rogue One. Captain Andor, the deuteragonist in the movie was praised by the fans and became a fan favorite.

After this response Disney announces Andor, a prequel to Star Wars Rogue One, set five years back in time. And again give fans a taste of what they didn’t ask for but wanted so bad.

Is Andor An Origin Story?

With the two trailers at our hands, we can figure out that Andor is yet an origin story of Rogue One’s Captain Andor. It tells us the story of how Cassian Andor, started working towards the resistance of the empire.

We get to see how he infiltrated the Empire’s army and started helping the rebellion take down the Empire. As the series is set to focus on the adventures of Captain Andor, his origin doesn’t really seem to be that big part of the show.

The sneak peek being released with the re-release of Rogue One will probably clear the plotline for us even more. Well with the 2016 hit coming back to theatres and with its back-to-back hit T.V. shows, Disney continues to feed its audience good and promising content.
