Ms. Marvel, Marvel Studios’ seventh Disney+ series, will premiere on June 8, bringing audiences to yet another new hero: Kamala Khan. Unlike Moon Knight or Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Ms. Marvel is a grounded, coming-of-age story that is expected to lead into 2023’s The Marvels, which also stars Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris and stars Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan.
Ms. Marvel is the first Pakistani American superhero in the Marvel franchise, as well as Iman Vellani’s debut acting role. It’s also worth noting that her comic-book superpowers have been tweaked for the Disney+ series to better fit The Marvels.
While Ms. Marvel is a break from prior MCU projects’ multiversal and mythological tones, and despite the controversy surrounding her new power set, the series’ first critical comments have been good. Now, viewers know how lengthy the first two episodes of the show will run.
According to Julia Delbel of The Direct, the first Ms. Marvel screener episode lasted 47 minutes, while the second lasted 49 minutes. Once Episodes 1 and 2 are available on Disney+ in the United States, these schedules are likely to change. This is owing to the fact that the final runtimes of Moon Knight, which were also provided via advanced screeners, were 2-3 minutes longer than the screener times due to the final subtitle/dub credits, which weren’t added until the show was publicly released.
Because fans can expect the same thing with Ms. Marvel, they’ll most likely be listed as follows on Disney+ in the United States:
Episode 1: 49-50 minutes
Episode 2: 51-52 minutes.
The titles and lengths of the episodes have yet to be revealed.
The runtimes appear to be consistent with those of Marvel Studios’ other Disney+ series. Hawkeye, Loki, and Moon Knight have all clocked in at around 60 minutes. Even while these figures fluctuate, it’s never by much, and since the show follows suit, this looks to be the target runtime for the MCU’s Disney+ series.
WandaVision and What If…? have been the only two outliers so far. This, however, can be linked to the mediums and formats they use. WandaVision’s sitcom-focused first episode, for example, lasted barely 31 minutes before concluding with a standard MCU episode conclusion that lasted 51 minutes.
Ms. Marvel arrives on Disney+ on June 8 with the first episode.
