Later this week, the movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be out; already, the reviews are really positive. How the newest MCU film will compare to previous recent Marvel productions is still up for debate. However, it seems reasonable to assume that it won’t commit the major mistake that has recently dogged the franchise’s efforts. Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds demonstrates his belief that he is as indestructible as Wade Wilson by antagonizing Kevin Feige and the crew with potential Deadpool 3 spoilers.

In a recent conversation about a potential cast for his upcoming MCU threequel, Deadpool 3’s star Ryan Reynolds referenced the Multiverse.
Even though Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hinted at its existence, the Multiverse Saga has yet to fully explore the potential that numerous parallel realms have to offer.

Deadpool 3 will dig deeper into the multiversal concept. Especially when the MCU’s first R-rated adventure features Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine alongside the Merc with a Mouth.

According to multiple recent reports, the upcoming threequel will be the point at which the multiverse completely breaks open in the MCU for the first time, solidifying Deadpool’s place in the franchise for many years to come.

Ryan Reynolds spoke about the theory of the multiverse and how it would be used in his first Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Deadpool 3, in a new video clip on Twitter.

Reynolds uploaded a promotional video on social media for his forthcoming performance at the London Just for Laughs Festival, which fellow Deadpool 2 co-star Rob Delaney will moderate.

Deadpool star expressed his excitement to “talk about the creative multiverse of storytelling,” underscoring the multiverse’s significance in the film, while addressing the promotion. Reynolds also joked about whether Delaney will return to portray the character of Peter in the future MCU trilogy.

“Everywhere you look in your social feed, the Internet wants to know one thing: will Peter be in ‘Deadpool 3?’ Well, I have exciting news. I can officially announce that I can’t deny that I can confirm Rob Delaney will moderate our Maximum Effort session at the London Just for Laughs festival. I also will not deny how excited I am to talk about the creative Multiverse of storytelling, the entrepreneurial journey and Delaney’s sweet, sweet face.”

Prior to this, Hugh Jackman discussed the concept of the multiverse in a recent interview, hinting at a time-travel tool that will be utilized in the film to travel back in time and explore other universes:

“But then I just put it aside and I was like, ‘No, no I’m done.’ And then we made ‘Logan’ and I was super happy with it. But all because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines now we can go back, because, you know, it’s science. And so I don’t have to screw with the ‘Logan’ timeline which was important to me, and I think probably to the fans too.”

In addition to these hints, director Shawn Levy spoke on the subject in a December 2022 interview with Collider. The fact that Shawn said “this is the first Deadpool movie in the MCU” is undeniable proof that the Merc with a Mouth will be exploring the Multiverse outside of his Fox-verse domicile.

“On or about. Yep. The truth is the more digitally CG-heavy a movie is, the longer time you need in post. But obviously it’s the first ‘Deadpool’ movie in the MCU. There’s going to be no lack of visual effects. But it’s also a North Star priority for Ryan and I to keep Deadpool raw, gritty, grounded in the ways that those movies have been and that all of us love.”

The Multiverse Will Indeed “Break Open” In Deadpool 3

There have already been a number of events that point to the multiverse; the Avengers just aren’t aware of the danger Kang poses to it.
When the events of Deadpool 3 unfold, all of the MCU’s characters will become keenly aware of the multiverse and its threats. As a result, because the Avengers will be more aware of threats originating from the multiverse, the events of Deadpool 3 should directly affect the Kang Dynasty and the Secret Wars.

Insiders, on the other hand, have linked Deadpool 3 to Thor: Ragnarok. Particularly because it was quite evident that Thanos was on the way at the end of Thor 3. In contrast, the earlier films just hinted at the threat, which wasn’t there yet. Similarly, Deadpool 3 will highlight that the multiverse is in grave danger.

Deadpool 3 will hit theaters on November 8, 2024.
