Scarlett Johansson is known for her support of Woody Allen, even amidst allegations of s*xual abuse. However, it appears that even she had moments of frustration with the director’s behavior on set. While filming the $39 million comedy “Scoop” with Hugh Jackman and Ian McShane, Johansson witnessed Allen’s excessively punctilious attitude and scalding anger, leading to heated moments and angry retakes.
Allen’s Disruptive Behavior
During a particular scene that required multiple retakes, Allen’s frustration escalated to the point of hysteria, forcing them to wrap up for the day. Johansson remarked how everyone was disappointed and how Allen’s behavior was disrespectful to the crew. Although the take didn’t turn out to be great, Johansson emphasized the importance of respecting the crew and getting the work done.
Johansson’s Support For Woody Allen
Despite her experience with Allen’s behavior on set, Johansson has remained a staunch supporter of the director. When Mia Farrow accused Allen of s*xually abusing their adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, in 1997, many Hollywood stars distanced themselves from him. However, Johansson refused to believe the allegations and outright dismissed their possibility, claiming that she would work with Allen anytime. Johansson maintained her belief in Allen’s innocence, stating, “I love Woody. I believe him, and I would work with him anytime.”
