Selena Gomez made a marvelous appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend. And the pop sensation was absolutely amazing with the event’s opening monologue. The first-time host jokingly declared that she’s “manifesting love.” And following her glorious debut, her look for the night’s after-party certainly couldn’t hurt.
After honorably fulfilling her hosting duties on May 14, Selena Gomez attended the after-party celebration in a strapless black Michael Stewart dress with a thigh-high slit. In many photographs, the star covered up the slit with one hand. Regardless of any concerns about potential wardrobe malfunction, Selena Gomez was stunning as she smiled for the cameras. She wore a beautiful palette of subtle makeup finished with a lovely peachy lip. In addition, her wavy, long bob was framing her face. She matched her dress with an inky black manicure. The singer and actress topped the whole ensemble off with a pair of sequined silver mules.
According to Elle, there were a couple of other icons who accompanied Selena Gomez at the after-party. She was seen enjoying her night with SNL musical guest Post Malone and her longtime friend and on-screen love interest, Cara Delevingne. With that said, we cannot shake the thought of wondering how things went for SNL cast member Punkie Johnson, who propositioned the star during her opening monologue.
“One reason I’m really excited to host SNL is because I’m single,” Gomez joked at the top of the show. “And I’ve heard that SNL is a great place to find romance. Emma Stone met her husband here, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost, and Pete and….Machine Gun Kelly.”
“Since I don’t really want to try the dating apps, I just want to put it out in the universe that I’m manifesting love. I would like to say that I’m looking for my soulmate, but at this point, I will take anyone.”
Selena Gomez’s interesting monologue was followed by an interesting series of volunteers that consisted of members with varying degrees of success. To Kyle Mooney, Gomez simply said, “No. No. God No. No”. Meanwhile, the pop star turned down James Austin Johnson with a little bit of heart.
However, Gomez did not immediately shoot down comedian Punkie Johnson.
“You know, I’m so sorry. These men out here harassing you,” Johnson said to Gomez. “It’s just unacceptable, boo. You’re just out here doing your job. Damn. But…you know…I’ll do it.”
“Honestly, it’s kind of a vibe. But let’s see how the after-party goes.”
