A shot-for-shot parody of the 1978 television series The Incredible Hulk, starring Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno, appeared in the opening sequence of the She Hulk’s finale. The Savage She-Hulk is the name of the fictional TV show , which still stars Tatiana Maslany as the show’s title character but is now dressed in a checkered blazer in the style of the ’70s. The show’s aesthetic bears respect to the time period with a film grain-heavy appearance and over-the-top voice-over narration by modern standards.

After a while, the Jennifer Walters we’ve grown to know and love realises the ’70s callback was only a dream all along. The Savage She-Hulk may actually exist somewhere in the multiverse, according to a few obvious hints.

A Reddit User  Posted about a quick but recognisable musical note during The Savage She-Hulk sequence is actually “the Watcher’s main theme from What If…?, the animated Disney Plus series that imagines an alternative multiverse version of well-known MCU characters.

Characters in the Marvel Cinematic World (MCU) who dream are actually experiencing a variant of themselves in an alternate universe, as was stated in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This would pave the way for the Savage She-Hulk to emerge in a What If…? episode of the second season by indicating that she does indeed exist in an alternate reality.

This fan speculation certainly gives us hope that we’ll get to see more of what Jennifer Walters would look like in a 1970s setting, even though it is still not confirmed that a Savage She-Hulk-focused episode of  ‘What If?’ will appear in the upcoming season two.

What If…? Season 2 was revealed in December 2019. Nine episodes will make up the launch, which is set for early 2023 on Disney+ only if it does not get delayed.
