Disney+ Day was a great event for Marvel fans. The celebration for the 2nd anniversary of the streaming service showed all the new shows that were coming in 2022 and next. Now, 2021 was a great year for the MCU. WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, What If…?, Loki, and now the year is going to get rounded out with Hawkeye.

If you think this was all, then think again. 2022 will bring a bonanza of Marvel’s superhero shows like Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and What If…? Season 2. Out of these 3, something in She-Hulk caught our attention.

Smart Hulk Is Now Bruce Banner

She-Hulk stars Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters. She is a lawyer and also Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner’s cousin. Jennifer receives his powers after a blood transfusion. Directed by Kat Coiro, the show will re-introduce Tim Roth’s Abomination. Viewers of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings saw Abomination make a brief cameo in the movie. But he wasn’t the only one who showed up.

Mark Ruffalo also cameoed in one of the post-credits scenes of the movie. There he seemed to be back in his human form as opposed to that of Smart Hulk from 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. So obviously, there are a lot of unanswered questions regarding the how’s and why’s of Hulk’s change. Now, She-Hulk is the only show that can give us the answers.

Bruce Banner And Smart Hulk In She-Hulk Sizzle Reel

As part of the Disney+ Day announcements, fans got to see Mark Ruffalo as both Smart Hulk and Bruce Banner in the newly released sizzle reel from the upcoming She-Hulk series. The first scene in the sizzle where we see Smart Hulk involves him working on some experiments or tests with Jennifer inside a transparent box.

He is trying to explain to her what triggers these Hulk transformations. The next time we see Bruce Banner. He is alongside Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters. The two of them are seemingly dressed in a Bill Bixby-inspired attire.

Maslany stares directly at the camera and breaks the fourth wall. She says:

“Don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry”

This echoes one of the most iconic lines of Bixby from The Incredible Hulk television series.

She-Hulk Will Shed Light On Hulk’s Change

She-Hulk is a legal comedy that will put the focus on Maslany’s Jennifer Walters. It will see her try to balance her career with her new powers and the anger issues that cause them. However, from the trailer, it looks like Bruce Banner will also be a major part of her story. So, more of Hulk’s story is sure to be revealed as well. And it’s time that he got his due.

After all, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is getting a show, and Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff has also received her solo movie. So Mark Ruffalo is the only OG Avenger who doesn’t have a project that’s solely dedicated to his Hulk’s version. As such, She-Hulk is the perfect opportunity for rectifying that. This is especially since there are rumors that Hulk’s son will show up as well.

Now regarding Hulk’s different appearances, his line about what Hulk transformation seems to be key. After all, some time has passed after the events of Avengers: Endgame. So it’s possible that at this point, the issues that prevented him from transforming into Bruce Banner have been reversed. But more will be revealed to fans when She-Hulk premieres in 2022. Its exact release date will be announced soon.
