The big mystery that was Spider-Man: No Way Home is finally being unveiled. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s legendary project is currently on a triumphant streak in theaters across the world. Needless to say, the third installment in the Spider-Man trilogy has become one of the best comic book movies ever. This was made possible through three generations of Marvel’s web-slingers uniting to defeat the Multiversal villains entering the MCU. Among which, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin stole the limelight.
Iconic star Willem Dafoe made a reappearance after 20 years to take on his character of Normon Osborn. However, what is exciting is the actor’s equally fearsome take on the villain. Dafoe took his time in challenging Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in the threequel. And towards the end of the movie, the villain was sent back to Tobey Maguire’s Spidey universe.
Dafoe’s villain puts on a grand show before bidding adieu to the MCU. The Green Goblin went above and beyond to make his presence felt. And certainly, the villain shook the universe for Holland’s Marvel hero and the world he dearly protects.
It has been over a month since No Way Home hit the box office. And now, Sony is appreciating Willem Dafoe’s role as Green Goblin.
Spider-Man: No Way Home’s official Twitter page recently dropped a new promotional video. The footage celebrates Willen Dafoe’s Green Goblin.
Merely within fifteen seconds, the clip puts together Dafoe’s iconic villain’s most daunting moments from the Spidey threequel.

This is the very first time a promotional material has teased Green Goblin’s scenes outside the actual movies. The footage clearly provides Dafoe’s best looks ever.

The video also features Tom Holland’s Peter Parker with Dafoe’s Norman Osborn. Essentially, the video highlights Peter’s spidey-sense getting out of control when he recognizes Goblin is operating Norman’s body.

The promotional video shows Holland’s Spider-Man when Dafoe’s Goblin says “Peter, Peter, Peter. No good deed goes unpunished”, in his sadistic manner. Fans remember how Peter tragically loses Aunt May after this.

Dafoe’s Goblin in MCU threequel
It is apparent from the header that the sole purpose of this video is to appreciate Willem Dafoe. Obviously, Sony Pictures has an agenda to continue selling tickets for No Way Home. However, the short footage also celebrates the history that Dafoe’s steady presence has created for the comic book movie genre.
First brought to life in 2002, Dafoe made it clear what an actual comic book movie is supposed to look like. In fact, fans believe his return to No Way Home has only cemented his glorious place in the franchise. Some fans even encouraged Dafoe to be on the Oscar campaign trail for his MCU role. The argument that goes here is that appreciation will only make him a greater icon than he already is.
It is interesting to notice how Green Goblin got an exclusive mini-trailer dedicated solely to his character. Marvel is starting a tradition by using the promo? After all, No Way Home is slowly advancing towards the mantle of the biggest movies of all-time.
Considering the trend to just begin, there is hope for fans to receive more special moments from their favorite Spidey villains. Including Jamie Foxx’s Electro and Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock. Also, what would be even better is to see the clips of our beloved Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in their versions of the web-slinger.
The fact that the production is releasing more marketing material after a month of the movie’s release is a little unusual. But No Way Home had a lot of ground to cover. So it makes sense that the actors, crew, and Sony Pictures’ marketing department would decide to go back and ponder on their triumph.
