With Spider-Man: No Way Home’s spectacular ensemble of stars, Marvel Studios brought together three generations of Spider-Man fans to applaud the Endgame level outing. The film saw Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield saluting their respects to webheads around the world who have continuously rooted for the character for nearly two decades. It took the Spider-Man movies, a 20 year-long buildup, to finally go out big and pay homage to one of the most adored fictional characters of all time, Peter Parker. 

The months that led up to its highly awaited release created a hype so intense, audiences’ expectations were soaring. There was an abundance of rumors, leaks, new trailer releases. And every fan entering theaters to finally watch Spider-Man: No Way Home saw it as a dream come true. 

Needless to say, the most anticipated factor in the movie was Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, coming in for their MCU debut by reprising their classic Spider-Man roles. With numerous leaks surrounding their appearance, when the movie finally hit the big screen on December 17th, fans were not concerned about Tobey and Andrew being in the movie. But instead, they were excited to see how the two were going to pull it off.

Recently, The Amazing Spider-Man web-slinger Andrew Garfield shared some interesting information about the film. Garfield’s comment allowed a glance into the process of incorporating the two legends into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As well as how long both actors remained on the set of No Way Home.

How Many Days Did Tobey Maguire Stay On The Sets Of Spider-Man: No Way Home?

Not long ago, Andrew Garfield was interviewed by Variety. The star revealed that he and Tobey Maguire were on set  filming Spider-Man: No Way Home for “two weeks.” Garfield suggested how the duration gave them more than enough time to turn their presence into the movie more than just a cameo or a “Hi! Bye!” situation.

“We were shooting for two weeks, Toby and I. But I think we managed to achieve something that is not just showing up and going, “Hi! Bye!” My Spider-Man got to save his younger brother’s romantic relationship, potentially.”

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s characters share almost all their screen time together for a bunch of important scenes. So for production to run smoothly, it was necessary for them both to be on set together during that period. 

Tobey and Andrew make their first appearance at the beginning of the third act of No Way Home. And from there on, the two legends continue to carry the movie alongside Tom Holland. Contrary to this, Charlie Cox returned as Matt Murdock in a cameo for just one scene.

The idea that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would accompany Tom Holland’s MCU hero in a Multiversal Spider-Man outing first stemmed back in 2016. Mainly because Marvel delighted its fans with its first solo Spider-Man project. 

What once seemed like a fever dream has finally turned into a reality. Marvel Studios has given fans something they’d long forgotten they wanted. However, with a spectacle so massive out there, it is important for fans to realize that this moment was not created just for the sake of it. To flesh out an epic comic book moment and to do such an outstanding job at it requires the utmost care and precision. As well as keeping in mind fans’ wishes.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield spent two weeks working hard to make their presence felt in the movie. Their main intention was to touch the hearts of millions of fans. The fact that everyone involved in the movie made sure to utilize the available time to create something truly admirable is what makes their personalities in the MCU so exceptional. Spider-Man: No Way Home made sure to portray each Peter Parker character distinctly. Their unparalleled roles were what fans wanted to relish in all this time.

Being the eldest and the most experienced of the three, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man stepped up to play the role of a mentor. Maguire’s Peter Parker has been around for the longest time. So this move is not only appropriate, but it allowed fans to view the character with a new-found intensity that they have missed for over 15 years. All the lessons that Maguire’s Peter Parker instilled. Along with his overall character growth helped not only Tom Holland’s Peter but Garfield’s too.

Regarding Garfield, however, he aced it with his signature self that Spider-Man fans across the world absolutely adore. Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker sketched as a broken down, beaten-up, guilt-ridden version. One who was desperately looking to rectify his wrongs was truly exceptional for fans. All these details brought out certain aspects from their past appearances. It was what made the two characters more than just a cameo. The element reprised their characters ongoing struggles, however light hearted. Thus, giving us the idea that they also need the experiences of No Way Home just as much as Tom Holland’s Peter, if not more. 

These tiny details from behind-the-scenes are what make Andrew Garfield so adorable to all Spider-Man fans. It is also why fans have started a campaign to bring back Garfield’s web-slinger for a much longer period. Fans also acknowledge and respect how Andrew’s Peter got the chance to redeem the Gwen Stacy tragedy with MJ. The film made sure to not include the two actors merely for a quick pop-in cameo as it would have only misled audiences. Besides, isn’t it lovely how Andrew Garfield refers to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker as his Peter Parker’s little brother?
