Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the most talked-about movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film’s rights are owned by Sony, and Marvel Studios only produces the Spider-Man movies in the MCU, which has led to the movie’s absence from Disney+.

However, a deal between Sony and Disney paved the way for Spider-Man-related movies to come to Disney+. Recently, Disney+ announced that Tom Hardy’s Venom and five Spider-Man movies, including Tom Holland’s Homecoming, will be available on the streaming service. Nevertheless, neither Far From Home nor No Way Home was given an official release date, as their streaming rights remain tied up elsewhere.

In a recent press release, Sony provided an update hinting at when Spider-Man: No Way Home might finally come to Disney+. The studio confirmed that more movies and shows from the Sony Pictures library are expected to come to Disney+ in the US “later this year.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home is already streaming on Starz and has been since July 2022, and the movie is available on Netflix in some regions. However, as part of a deal announced in April 2021, Disney and Sony agreed to make Disney+ the post-Pay 1 home for Sony’s Marvel projects released from 2022 to 2026 in the US.

The only Sony Marvel movies still absent from Disney+ after May 12 are Far From Home, No Way Home, Venom 2, Morbius, and Into the Spider-Verse. With Sony promising more additions from its library will come to Disney+ later this year, it is likely that at least some of these movies will come to the streaming service in the coming months.

Far From Home followed the same five Spider-Man movies onto Disney+ five months later in the UK and Ireland, which means it is likely to arrive on the streaming service in late 2023. However, No Way Home was released before the post-Pay 1 deal officially began. As more time has passed since the movie’s release, it will likely come to Disney+ in late 2023.
