Tom Holland’s future in the role has been a topic of discussion since Spider-Man: No Way Home was released. Although Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has officially stated that production on the fourth Spider-Man movie has already begun, specifics regarding his next project are still scarce.

The last few years have been a big-screen treat for fans of the webslinger. We saw him battle Thanos in Infinity War, swing through portals in Endgame, collaborate with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in No Way Home, and Into the Spider-Verse introduced him to a new universe.

Miles Morales will run across several more variants, notably Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099, in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse later this year.

Although Holland didn’t feature in the first Spider-Verse film, current speculations indicate that will change in the next sequel.
In a few months, Tom Holland will reportedly make a comeback as Spider-Man, and he will meet a surprising new pal from the Spider-Verse, according to a recent rumor.

According to rumors, the actor signed a contract with Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures in November 2022 to play Spider-Man in a new trilogy of films, with additional appearances as the superhero expected.

While his fourth solo feature is still in the works, he’ll have at least one visit before the current trio of flicks hits theaters.

Industry insider Jeff Sneider stated on The Hot Mic that Tom Holland may be reprising his role as Spider-Man much sooner than many might have anticipated.
The insider disclosed that one of the factors contributing to the film’s delay last year “was about getting Tom Holland in [the] movie. ”

“I’d heard that part of the delay of [Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse] was about getting Tom Holland in that movie, and that one of the dimensions that Miles could end up going to is a live-action dimension with Tom Holland’s [Spider-Man].”

After further clarification, Sneider stated that he believes it will involve “an animated Miles in a live-action world.”

“I would assume that it’s just going to be an animated Miles in a live-action world.”

The Spider-Verse producers, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who are additionally working on the Silk: Spider Society and Spider-Man: Noir series for Amazon, gave a hint that Holland would make an appearance in the film.

“Let’s say… Anything is possible in the multiverse.”

Animated Spider-Man Meets Holland’s Live-Action Hero

Following starring in 2021’s millennial event Spider-Man: No Way Home, Holland’s portrayal of the wall-crawler in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is even more logical. The live-action Spider-Mans, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, joined Peter Parker from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in that movie. Given that the MCU is in the midst of its Multiverse Saga and that Holland’s Spider-Man now understands how the universe functions, a crossover between Miles Morales from the animated Spider-Verse series and the MCU’s Spider-Man might very well be on the horizon.

The Cosmic Circus was the initial outlet to report late last year that Tom Holland would appear in one of Sony Studios’ next animated movies.

More precisely, the publication stated that the actor’s MCU Spider-Man will be making an appearance. They weren’t sure if Holland would truly be providing the character’s voice, though.

There would be nothing stopping Sony from using Holland, or even Maguire and Garfield, if they so desired. Although Marvel Studios and Sony both use Holland’s Spider-Man, the next Spider-Man 4 could not have had any MCU connections due to a disagreement between the two businesses.

Although Marvel and Sony are presently sharing Spider-Man, Sony owns the film rights to the character.

It is obvious that a lot has changed if they now want to utilize Holland in a live-action cameo.

Audiences would very surely lose it if Sony is successful in getting a live-action Spiderman to connect with an animated Spidey across mediums.

The movie may have an audience response similar to that of Avengers: Endgame or No Way Home if you consider that both of these portrayals of the hero are very well-liked.

Let’s all just wait and see if this rumor turns out to be true when we watch the movie in a few months.
