Disney+, The Book of Boba Fett, is set to be released on December 29, kicking off a new wave of Star Wars content. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor will be available on streaming platforms in 2022, followed by one of the most awaited entrants in Star Wars lore: Ahsoka. The character was a fan favourite from the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and went on to play an important role in Star Wars: Rebels.

Rosario Dawson played Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian’s second season. Following a positive response from fans, Lucasfilm approved a spin-off series entirely dedicated to the character. Since Ahsoka’s statement, fans have been waiting for any update. They were recently rewarded with the announcement of Hayden Christensen’s return as Darth Vader and the addition of Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren.

Ahsoka Has A New Cast Member

According to Deadline, Pacific Rim: Uprising star Ivanna Sakhno has been cast in Ahsoka, a forthcoming Star Wars Disney+ series. According to the report, Sakhano will play “a newly conceived character” in The Mandalorian spin-off.

She will star opposite Rosario Dawson, who will reprise her role as the eponymous character, who first appeared in live-action in the 2020s The Mandalorian Season 2. Sakhno will play a new character created for the series, according to the source. Sakhno has also appeared in The Spy Who Dumped the Hulu series High Fidelity and Me.

The Pacific Rim Assists Ahsoka

It’s always exciting when a prospective original character is introduced. Viewers may be staring at the face of a new fan obsession––look at how Pedro Pascal’s Mando turned out. What, original or not, could her role be? Much of the suspected plot revolves around Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka searching for Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn, two significant characters from Star Wars: Rebels.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a long time before Ahsoka appears on Disney+. Although filming is set to begin next year, there is no set release date for the series. Fans may not see Dawson’s favourite character again until 2023.

Until then, there will hopefully be some other Star Wars shows to watch, as The Book of Boba Fett begins streaming on December 29.
