Ahsoka’s arrival in the second season of The Mandalorian was a colossal event. Even though the character of Ahsoka Tano has existed for years now in animated shows like Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels, Rosario Dawson is portraying the character in live-action for the very first time.

Her arrival has paved the way for fans to see more of her exploits on Disney+. After all, she is getting her solo show where Hayden Christensen will join her as Anakin/Vader. This announcement has got fans speculating how he can show up in the front.

Along with this, fans are also speculating if Obi-Wan will appear on the show as well. After all, Kenobi is getting his show on Disney+, so there’s a chance of him showing up in Ahsoka.

While the announcement of Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Anakin/Vader has generated much excitement regarding the show, there has been still no news regarding Ahsoka’s shooting schedule.

There is just only one report that says the show is going to shoot during 2022. But, if a conversation on Kevin Smith’s podcast called FatMan Beyond Live is to be believed, then Dawson might be going to work as early as this December.

Rosario Dawson Shooting Ashoka This December?

On the podcast, Kevin Smith and co-host Marc Bernardin talked about the short movie Bernadin was preparing to shoot. Over time, the conversation turned to his attempts to get Rosario Dawson to star in the film.

Kevin Smith has connections to Dawson and knows her from Clerks 2 and its sequel, Clerks 3. All this led to Bernadin inadvertently spilling some beans about Dawson’s schedule. Here’s the full quote:

“You (Smith) helped me connect with someone who was going to be in the cast but couldn’t make it happen. … It was Rosario Dawson. I don’t know why we’re being circumspect about that? She’s not going to be in the movie, so it’s fine. She is the busiest lady in the world. … Only because I’m tired of not being able to say s—t, cause it’s always where you’re like, “Working on a thing. Find me in 2023.” But yeah, like she was the first choice and I wanted her very very badly. But, then she read the script and loved it, but she’s like, “Listen, I’m going to be in Manhattan Beach making a f—king Star Wars show. And I can’t be in your short.” Which I was like, “OK.”

Know that Star Wars shows like The Mandalorian are shot in the Manhattan Beach, California studio.

The Star Wars Show Could Be Anything

Now, Bernadin is just loosely discussing Dawson’s schedule in regards to his short movie. As such, it’s not a confirmation at all.
Also, keep in mind that the Star Wars show Rosario Dawson will shoot during December in Manhattan Beach doesn’t necessarily have to be Ahsoka.

After all, season 3 of The Mandalorian is currently shooting, and it’s expected that the shoot will stretch till March 2022. So Rosario Dawson may be shooting for The Mandalorian as Ahsoka.

Now, Ahsoka Tano returning for season 3 will be news enough to make fans even more excited for the upcoming season of The Mandalorian. Although, we must say that it wasn’t unexpected.

Ahsoka fans need not be disappointed. Ahsoka’s solo venture is coming soon. If it starts shooting in late 2021, then we might be able to see it in 2022. We would want to see it sooner rather than later anyway.

But till then, there will be plenty of Star Wars shows to tide us over. For example, there’s season 3 of The Mandalorian coming up, Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and of course The Book of Boba Fett.

With so many shows in production, it’s possible that Rosario could be shooting for any of them. Maybe even Dawson doesn’t precisely know which Star Wars she shows is shooting in December.

MCU fans will remember that Gwyneth Paltrow famously said she didn’t remember which MCU movies she had shot scenes for.
The same thing could be true for Star Wars actors now that the galaxy is on its way to becoming as intricate as the MCU.

But no matter what, it probably means that we will be seeing Dawson’s Ahsoka in other shows apart from her solo project. And that should be enough to hype fans.
