Hayden Christensen is Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader to every Star Wars fan. But the star of the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy wasn’t seen in another live-action Star Wars project after that. However, that’s all going to change in the Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi show.
Hayden Christensen is all set to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the upcoming Disney+ show along with Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Right now, specific plot details aren’t known. But the show will follow Obi-Wan’s exile on Tatooine after the events of Revenge of the Sith.
Christensen’s return was loved by multiple fans who felt that George Lucas’ divisive writing style didn’t allow the actor to shine in the prequels. During the release of the Prequel movies, critics said that Christensen’s portrayal of Anakin in Revenge of the Sith as well as in Attack of the Clones was inexpressive and wooden.
Thankfully, the years have been kind to the Prequel movies. Public opinion has drastically changed in the years following the release of the films. This is due to nostalgia as well as due to supplementary stories like The Clone Wars. These have helped give depth to the underdeveloped characters of the Prequel Saga.
Now that Christensen is coming back to the role after a period of about two decades, he will finally have the chance to show his talents to the fullest.
Recently, Hayden was spotted at Florida Supercon wearing an Obi-Wan Kenobi stunt team hat. The pictures are kinda blurry, and so further details aren’t properly visible. But maybe you can decipher more in the pictures below:

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy recently said that the Sith Lord will go up against Kenobi at one point in the show. After all, the biggest draw of the show is that fans want to see the fight between the two giants. But it’s unclear as to what extent Christensen’s direct likeness will be used.
This means that Christensen will either be in the Darth Vader suit or would have to wear bulky prosthetics after the character was immolated in Mustafar. However, since Christensen seems to own gear that’s reserved for the stunt team, this shows that the actor might be in for some stunts himself.
Now, whether that will be in flashbacks or the Vader suit isn’t known yet. Regardless, Hayden Christensen’s return to the Star Wars universe is a good sign for the future of the franchise. Star Wars has always had issues with dramatically course-correcting based on criticisms.
The biggest criticisms levied recently against the franchise is definitely in the recent Sequel Trilogy movies. But The Mandalorian has made things better for the franchise, and Obi-Wan Kenobi will further lead the charge towards more glowing reviews.
