After a disappointing Sequel Trilogy, Star Wars rebounded fantastically with the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Thankfully, that was just the beginning. After the show’s success, Lucasfilm became interested in expanding the Star Wars world of the streaming service.
Due to that serve, ral spin-offs and shows set in the same Star Wars period being developed. Some examples are Andor, The Mandalorian, and Ahsoka. As such, for now, the future of the franchise is set on Disney+. This is especially true after Rogue Squadron, the movie Patty Jenkins was helming, was indefinitely delayed due to toins’ exit. So there’s a vast massive of episodic series that’s set to release on the streaming platform in the next couple of years. And more are in the making.
Disney+ Star Wars Shows That Will Premiere Next

The immediate one up next is The Book of Boba Fett. And that will run into 2022. But this isn’t the only show that will air in 2022. The most anticipated show right now is Obi-Wan Kenobi. It is set for a May 2022 release. Rumors are doing the rounds that it might even premiere during Star Wars day.
After that Andor and lastly, the highly anticipated season 3 of The Mandalorian will close out the year. However, among these three shot threes, it’s undoubtedly true that Andor is the underdog. But with 12 eps in the bucket and leading into one of the most loved movies that have been released since Disney got ownership, fans are surelindeedor a treat with Andor.
Star Wars: Andor Will Release In Summer 2022

Diego Luna is the lead of Andor. He will be portraying Cassian Andor, a Rebel spy. The actor recently revealed that the show has finished filming. However, apart from that, not much has been revealed about the project. But fans waiting for the show don’t need to be disappointed any longer since the release window for the show has been released.
Journalist Clayton Sandell took to Twitter to inform fans that during the company’s Q4 earnings call, Disney CFO Christine McCarthy announced that Andor would be released “in the 4th quarter of 2022.”This means that the project will debut sometime between July and September. The main plotline of Andor will be about Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor and his alliance with the Rebel Alliance before Rogue One.
Andor Hints At The Disney+ Schedule

Now that we know about the official release window for Andor, it’s easier to predict when the other Star Wars shows of 2022 will get released. Since Andor is filling the summer slot, Disney will probably debut Kenobi and The Mandalorian at the beginning or the end of 2022.
Now, The Mandalorian began filming very recently. As such, it’s safe to say that the next season won’t be ready for a while. So we probably won’t be able to see it at the beginning of the year. Also, The Book of Boba Fett will run into February for sure. So Disney will most likely take a break from the Mando-verse storyline till the end of the year.
Assuming that The Mandalorian follows its normal premiere and format model of November-December, that leaves Kenobi open for spring. May 4, known as Star Wars Day, is the perfect date for Kenobi. It is the perfect date for Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen to make their comebacks. However, no matter when these projects come out in 2022, it’s clear the next year will be full of content from the beginning to the end for Star Wars fans.
