However, Mikkelsen has denied these rumors in a recent interview, stating that he has not been approached by Lucasfilm to return as Thrawn in the upcoming series.

Ahsoka’s Hunt For Thrawn

Rosario Dawson, who stars as Ahsoka Tano in the series, has hinted that the show will focus on the character’s hunt for Thrawn after he disappeared into the far reaches of the galaxy with Ezra Bridger at the end of Rebels. With Ezra seemingly cast for the project, it seems likely that Thrawn will also make an appearance.

While it is possible that someone else could be playing Thrawn in the upcoming series, Dawson’s public celebration of the rumors that Mikkelsen was set to return to the role seems to suggest otherwise.
