Lucasfilm today shocked the internet by revealing that Gina Carana who plays Cara Dune in The Mandalorian series will no longer be part of the franchise and in any future projects.

After continuously posting controversial tweets for months by Gina Carana and fanbase continuously demanding her exit for the franchise, today Lucasfilm cut her loose and removed her from the studio. The straw that broke the camel’s back, so to speak, was what she shared this week – a message that inferred that

“being a Republican today is like being Jewish during the Holocaust.”

This post angered many people which made #FireGinaCarano trending on Twitter worldwide. This worldwide call was too loud for Lucasfilm to ignore and later they released the statement that she’s no longer employed by them.

Suffice it to say, Star Wars fans are freaking out over the news, with a whole range of different opinions surfacing, and you can check out just some of the reactions below.

These tweets are just a small sample to showcase what’s happening on social media right now. Fans are literally divided on this decision, not everyone is with her nor with the Lucasfilm. Despite her social media posts, she is getting a great deal of support from her fans.

That being said, the overwhelming majority of people do indeed seem to be pleased to see Gina Carano booted from The Mandalorian and while it remains to be seen how this situation will develop moving forward, it’ll probably be a long time before the actress finds herself attached to another big name franchise.
