Star Wars fans love Obi-Wan Kenobi. But they also know that post-Revenge of the Sith, he didn’t really have an envious life. All he did after that was watch over young Luke as he settled down among the dusty dunes of Tatooine.

Kenobi led a life of anonymity on Tatooine as he disguised himself as ‘Ben Kenobi’. It looks like his disguise worked too because Luke didn’t pay any attention to him and thought that he was just another crazy old person. The subterfuge also worked since he was one of those few who survived Palatine’s purge. But for many Star Wars fans, his story actually leaves more to be desired.

Obi-Wan’s Presence In Star Wars Canon

Star Wars writers tend to find his isolation period intriguing. There are in fact tonnes of stories that take place in this gap between A New Hope and Revenge of the Sith where nothing much is going on with Kenobi. One such story is ‘Star Wars Rebels’ where he gets in a rematch with Darth Maul.

Now he is all set for brand new adventures in that period of isolation in the recently announced Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Along with this, there have been new reports saying that he will show up in the ‘Andor’ Disney+ show starring Rogue One’s Cassian Andor as well. But that’s not all. Trades are also reporting that his role in Andor won’t be a cameo. In fact, it’s supposed to be a sizeable meaty role.

Just How Isolated Was Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Time In Isolation?

Obi-Wan fans are wondering just how dedicated was he to his job of protecting Luke and hiding in Tatooine if he was jetting off for Andor?

Reports which broke the Andor role of Obi-Wan theorize that Kenobi could have had a great close and important relationship with Bail Organa. As such he could have provided important information to the galaxy’s nascent rebellion.

However, there is a question even now- after all what important information could he have when he was on Tatooine? However, we already know that the Obi-Wan show is going to star Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. So it’s very possible that they could have met.

Now if all these turn out to be true then Obi-Wan had a very action-packed isolation period. But many fans also love the idea of a powerful and strong Jedi like Kenobi personally choosing to become a hermit. After all, it does homage to the samurai film tropes which George Lucas himself was playing with when the original creator was conceptualizing Star Wars.

However, we are certainly excited to see more of Kenobi and watch how it all neatly ties up with the canon Star Wars universe. Also, we do hope that he was watching over Luke even when he was in his action-jammed isolation period.
