Warning! SPOILERS for The Book of Boba Fett episode 6.

Who saved Grogu during Order 66? That’s the question we have been asking since The Mandalorian gave hints about his past. Episode 6 of The Book of Boba Fett made the picture more clear by introducing 3 Jedis to the mix, but still didn’t give an answer.

All of this indicates that Star Wars is planning something big. After all, this is the biggest mystery of the MandoVerse right now. This slow reveal of the event is making the anticipation bigger.

Fans think that ultimately it will be a character they are familiar with. And we think that Mace Windu will be the person who ended up saving Grogu.

Why It Was Mace Windu Who Saved Grogu?

Fans are speculating that only a Jedi must have saved Grogu. Now, there are theories about others who could have saved him. But the recent Book of Boba Fett flashbacks show that couldn’t have happened.

After all, if the Clone troopers could have killed 3 Jedis, then a non-Force user would probably have failed. Also, since ordinary Jedis couldn’t do anything against the clones, so the Jedi that showed up had to be extremely powerful.

The one powerful Jedi who could have intervened was Mace Windu. We know that when thinking about which powerful Jedi could have saved him, Mace Windu doesn’t jump in front of the list at first.

After all, it seemed like he died in Revenge of the Sith. But The Book of Boba Fett could reveal that Windu survived. It’s not unprecedented at all.

After all, the show itself is telling the story of a character who was thought to have died in Revenge of the Sith as well. Hell, even Darth Maul survived being cut into two on Naboo during The Phantom Menace.

So with a simple retcon or smart storytelling, Star Wars can make Mace Windu responsible for saving Grogu.

We don’t know what happened to Windu after he fell from the window. But some way or other he could have gone to the Jedi Temple to warn others about what was going to happen.

However, when he gets there, he sees that the massacre has already begun. Windu, in response, could have used his purple lightsaber if he could get it, or picked any of the green lightsabers from the fallen Jedi to fight the clone troopers.

Mace Windu is one of the most powerful Jedi and lightsaber fighters. So if anyone could take down the clones and save Grogu, then it’s him.

Even though The Mandalorian hasn’t set up Windu’s return in any way yet. But the show has shown that it is possible. It has been nearly 20 years since Samuel L. Jackson portrayed Mace Windu in Revenge of the Sith.

So if he returns, then he has to be de-aged. Now, Samuel L. Jackson isn’t a stranger to this process due to his involvement with the MCU. After all, he played a young Nick Fury on Captain Marvel.

Also, bringing Windu back will make Samuel Jackson’s dreams of playing Windu again come true. After all, it would confirm that his Star Wars character didn’t die.

Jackson has long wanted Windu’s revival. He even says that Windu’s survival was approved by George Lucas as well. Also, he has his own ideas regarding what would happen to Mace if he got out of Revenge of the Sith alive.

He says that the Jedi would have hidden and stayed out of the spotlight. This would work with what we know of Grogu’s life until now. Maybe Mace Windu could have taken Grogu with him to Arvala-7 as a way to keep the little guy safe.

If Mace did save Grogu from Order 66, then Jackson could even return as an older Mace Windu in the current day of The Mandalorian or another show in the MandoVerse.

Hell, Windu coming back would perfectly tie into Boba Fett’s story as well. So The Book of Boba Fett would be able to hit two birds with one stone with Windu’s revival.

The Book of Boba Fett releases its final episode next Wednesday, February 9 on Disney+.
