Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Book of Boba Fett.

The Book of Boba Fett is pulling out surprises left and right now. Just a while back, fans were complaining about the slow pace of the show. But now they can’t get enough of it.

Episodes 5 and 6 changed the game with the return of multiple beloved faces like Ahsoka Tano, Grogu, Luke Skywalker, and of course Cad Bane.

Right now, The Book of Boba Fett has truly been season 2.5 of The Mandalorian. After all, since episode 5 the show has been catching everyone up on what Din Djarin is doing.

Episode 6 was a treat for fans. We saw Grogu getting trained by Luke Skywalker. When Grogu is trying to dodge the laser beams of the robot, Luke has a conversation with Ahsoka.

She comments that Luke is training the little creature well. But the Jedi Master says, “It’s more like he’s remembering than I’m actually teaching him anything.”

In the latest episode, we saw a little flashback of what Grogu had experienced. We saw three Jedi Knights trying to defend Grogu from the clones. However, we aren’t told who they are even though we have our own theories.

Also, we don’t know who actually Grogu’s savior was. However, there’s a little Easter egg that hints at who the person might be.

How Did Barriss Offee Save Grogu?

During the flashback sequence, we can see a crest along the wall. This crest should be familiar to Star Wars fans as it belongs to Barriss Offee.

Now, it’s certainly possible that the crest was just a reference to the character. But since Dave Filoni wrote the episode so it was probably meant to hint at something. Filoni has said before that he has plans for Barriss, and we might finally be seeing that happen in the MandoVerse.

The initial shelving of The Clone Wars meant that Barriss Offee’s story remained incomplete. When we last saw her, she was being escorted away by Jedi Temple Guards to a Republic brig because she had bombed a hangar.

Originally, at the end of the arc with Ahsoka, Barriss was going to blow up in her own cell as a result of the nano-droids she used for her attack.

But Filoni thought of doing something different. We never got to see Offee’s trial, but we don’t think that the ruling would have been in any way favorable for her.

Also, we don’t think that the Republic would let Barriss be kept with the Jedi. Maybe Barriss had a backup plan in the event of capture.

She could access the Republic’s military facility, so maybe she did have an ally who would give her a chance to flee when Order 66 happened.

An alternative explanation is that Barriss was put in the Jedi Temple when Order 66 happened. In the flashback sequence, we can see the fight happen in a narrow pathway of sorts.

This is similar to the one that Barriss’ room was attached to. So since her crest is there, it’s possible that it was her quarter present right below that symbol.

Now, we need to keep something in mind about Coffee. She wasn’t evil even though she used the dark side during The Clone Wars. Barriss was just disillusioned by the Jedi Order.

Grogu is just a baby. He is pure while the rest of the Jedi order wasn’t. This might have propelled Barriss to save him and flee from the fire and chaos.

What Will Be Barriss’ Role In The MandoVerse?

If Barriss Offee was indeed the one who saved Grogu, then she would have a major arc going forward. Maybe Ahsoka will encounter Offee in Ahsoka.

After all, it is the ideal show to introduce her since the titular character is the friend she betrayed. Also, being in exile for years might have changed her mind about a lot of things.

As such, it would be a great moment for the show since it would show Ashoka’s growth through her willingness to forgive.

Also, since Hayden Christensen is returning for the show, so the setup is there for the three of them to talk about the incident that really gave rise to Darth Vader.

Ahsoka will stream in 2023 on Disney+.
