David Harbour of Stranger Things said that season 4 of the series is the beginning of the end. Season 1 of the show was a huge hit in 2016 for the streaming giant Netflix. From then on, the show has gone from strength to strength and has become one of the highlights of the streaming service.

When the series began, it took place in a little town called Hawkins. But once season 3 came to a close, there was a new setting as well as hints of larger things that were beyond anything the audiences were made aware of till then. So let us find out how it will shape up the upcoming season.

How Will The New Setting Affect Season 4 Of Stranger Things?

Harbour is certainly excited about season 4 and hopes that audiences enjoy it. After all, once Netflix confirmed the survival of detective Jim Hopper in Russia, there were plenty of directions the show could take. Since the show isn’t limited to Hawkins, so the stakes are definitely much higher. There are new elements and advanced horror that is just grasping the viewer’s attention.

Being in Hawkins for three seasons has allowed the show to be quite intimate. Generally, the ensemble of characters on the show goes off with smaller teams like, for example, Dustin Henderson’s (Gaten Matarazzo) and Steve Harrington‘s (Joe Keery) team-up. Each group has different goals to accomplish and it also gives the audiences more time to spend with each character.

So by expanding on the scope and scape in the upcoming season, fans can see how the events that have been going on only in Hawkins relates to the outside world. Not to mention, this is a challenge that Hawkins hasn’t faced before. So it will be intriguing to watch it unfold.

Is Season 4 The End Of Stranger Things?

The creators of the show, The Duffer Brothers had teased before that there was an end in sight. After all, the show was originally planned as a 4 season run. But last year, the brothers confirmed that season 4 was not going to be the final season, but they have a roadmap of what the rest of the series looks like. They have further said that they want to end the story properly and satisfactorily.

So throughout the pandemic, the writers have perfected their scripts and are ready to tackle the last stretch. In response, the fan quarters have not been silent as well. There’s been an abundance of fan theories now that Netflix has begun promoting season 4 of the show.

David Harbour Talks About Season 4 Of Stranger Things

In an interview with Collider, David Harbour commented on what fans should expect from the next season. Now he obviously didn’t leak any specific plot details, but he did comment on the importance of the setting. As per Harbour, season 4 will start establishing an end to the famous series.

Here’s his full quote on season 4:

“I mean, it’s bigger, that’s the first thing. In scope, in scale, even in the idea that we’re not in Hawkins anymore. We, locale-wise, we’re bigger. We’re introducing new stuff, but we’re also tightening and wrapping up in a certain direction to make it have a clear, clean specific, and definite ending at some point, which I can’t really talk about.

Truthfully, right now, we don’t want to think of an ending. We are glad that season 4 is coming and we can’t wait to see how the new setting will affect the story.
