Fans of Henry Cavill‘s portrayal of Superman were hopeful to see him make a cameo appearance in The Flash. However, the latest update regarding his appearance is quite disappointing.

Reused Footage From Justice League

According to KC Walsh from Geeks Worldwide, Cavill’s cameo in The Flash will only feature reused footage from Justice League, not any new footage. The scene in the Speedforce will not have any surprises either.

Furthermore, Walsh also revealed that the scene rumored to have been filmed at the same time as Cavill’s cameo in Black Adam will not be featured in The Flash either. Reports from the end of 2022 even hinted that his cameo in The Flash had been left on the cutting room floor.

Possible End Of Cavill’s Time As Superman

This is not the first time that a cameo of Henry Cavill as Superman has been removed from a DC movie. The same thing happened in Shazam! in 2019 when the character was only seen as a headless anonymous figure. It is disappointing to see that none of the new footage filmed by Cavill will be used for one of the final films in this era of DC storytelling.

Sasha Calle’s Supergirl

Although Cavill’s time as Superman seems to have come to an end, The Flash will at least feature Sasha Calle’s Supergirl. The first trailer for the movie even notes that it is not Clark who jumps into the action, but there will be some Kryptonian influence in the film.

While Cavill has spoken with DC Studios brass about the future, it appears that his post-credits scene in Black Adam will be the end of the road for this version of the red-caped alien.
