Thor is one of Marvel’s legacy characters, and we don’t have to prove that right. From being in the Avengers to being a responsible leader for Asgard. Thor is the man that Marvel wants to expand for its audience. The legacy of Thor and Asagrd may be Marvel’s most complicated stories. His history with his father, mother, broker, and forgotten sister makes him a whole package for learning. Thor is also the MCU’s prized possession. His storyline makes you wonder how he even reached such potential. Marvel has been keen on seeing Thor as a fundamental character to shape, and encourage leadership.

In the MCU, it isn’t vastly different too. Thor’s character profile shifts slowly and masterfully. His royal attitude when he lands on Earth in Thor, showed us his Asgardian behavior. As we slowly progressed from Thor to The Dark World, we saw his composure and attitude change for Jane Foster. She has been an instrumental force in changing Thor. Next, as we saw Thor in the Avengers and Age of Ultron, Thor shows dynamic changes, but only for him to stand up to his beliefs. Thor is a great leader and Ragnarok proved that. Since the loss of his father, we could see him mentally breakdown. The loss of a father and mother changed his perspective on the true nature of human life.

Thus, his human attribute came in Infinity War. We saw him care for his partners, Groot and Rocket and also fight for a cause to save the people of Earth. Thor was also close to killing Thanos, though. It was during the blip, we could see Thor’s human side. A broken man, who has lost everything, yet is immortal. His life showed us how painful a lengthy life with a huge history could get.

Following the triumph of 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, director Taika Waititi returned to Marvel Studios for a second round of storytelling in Thor: Love and Thunder. Ragnarok Part 2 has already been teased by him, allowing Waititi to go as crazy as he wants with the God of Thunder. There are no limitations to how insane this sequel can get with cosmic monsters.

Waititi recently spoke up about his time working on Thor: Love and Thunder, including how he came to work with Marvel in the first place. While lying may not be effective in most settings, he demonstrated confidence in himself for the MCU’s executives, and it has served him well for the past five years.

Waititi wants to build on what he built in Ragnarok as his tale proceeds to new places after Avengers: Endgame, making him the latest MCU filmmaker to get a sequel. In a recent interview, he even mentioned how similar his second MCU attempt is to his first Thor movie.

Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi addressed how the latest MCU film feels akin to 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok in a conversation with The Playlist.

Waititi, who co-starred with Rhys Darby in Our Flag Means Death, said Darby’s presence within the next Thor film had been “on his list for a while.”

Moving over to the fourth Thor movie, Waititi said that there’s not much of a difference between this and Ragnarok when it came to shooting it. The scope and feeling are all similar to just what he dealt with the previous time through, with the exception of “a few various actors” playing a part.

Bringing Korg Into The Bigger Picture

Vampires have been mentioned in Thor: Ragnarok
Korg

Since Waititi portrays Korg in the MCU, the show teased how Darby might portray a humorous figure like Korg’s brother. The filmmaker even mentioned the term “Rock Guy” while recognizing the potential for a “Disney+ show” or “a spinoff” that may follow Korg’s journey.

Interviewer: “All I’m saying is Rhys would make a great brother to Korg.”

TW: “Rock Guy.”

Interviewer: “A couple of New Zealand rock guys.”

TW: “That’s a pretty good idea… like a spinoff.”

Interviewer: “Or a Disney+ show.”

How Thor 4 Can Be Different Yet Crazier

Waititi acknowledged that Thor: Love and Thunder is “quite distinct from Ragnarok” in a conversation with Empire Magazine, as reported by the Digital Spy.

Waititi’s remark about “more Thor” is most likely a reference to an on-set photo showing a larger, heavier Hemsworth channelling significant ’80s Hulk Hogan vibes with his body and fashion choices.

“It’s very different from Ragnarok. It’s crazier. I’ll tell you what’s different. There’ll be far more emotion in this film. And a lot more love, And a lot more thunder. And a lot more OF HIM if you’ve seen the photos.”

Given Waititi’s previous film, Ragnarok, which was a wild and crazy journey; it’s tough to conceive how well the director’s upcoming film could be even weirder. It’s also unknown how well the film will be influenced by other MCU productions such as Loki, Eternals, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The promise of “greater feeling” is arguably the most intriguing conclusion from Waititi’s remarks. Chris Hemsworth expressed this emotion on Instagram, noting that the film “could also pull a heartstring or two.”

Is this a sign that Thor’s MCU story will finally have a happy ending after so much heartbreak? Is there more heartache in store for the God of Thunder?

Thor 4 Will Continue Ragnarok For A New Story

After its release in November 2017, Thor: Ragnarok has remained among the most popular and well-received films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Taika Waititi was able to bring a new sense of vitality and fun into Thor’s solitary voyage; as he clawed his way across Sakaar and attempted to restore Asgard and his people. Thus earning more than 900 million dollars at the global box office.

Waititi has only glowing things to say about his experience directing Thor: Ragnarok; in which he was able to incorporate his brand of humor and adventure into the expanding MCU.

Despite the fact that Love and Thunder is a new plot with a matured Thor, the filmmaker didn’t notice many changes while shooting on all this and his first film. Though fans haven’t had anything yet to realize this, the first promo materials for the Agsardian may be on the way, probably next week.

Thor: Love and Thunder opens in theaters on July 8th 2022. Thor: Ragnarok is available on Disney+
