The appearance of Thanos’ brother Eros, alias Starfox, could change the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s power structure. With Chloé Zhao’s Eternals, Marvel Studios is introducing a whole new roster of superheroes. In addition to the primary cast of characters, though, the series is also establishing Harry Styles’ Titan Starfox, who will appear in the MCU in the near future.
There’s a lull in MCU activity after the Infinity War, as the universe regroups after Avengers: Endgame’s grand finale. For characters like Iron Man, Black Widow, and Captain America, the movie also served as a farewell. Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, and Captain Marvel are examples of second-generation heroes who are now taking on leadership roles as their stories continue to be told. Marvel Studios is also bringing in new crucial individuals to broaden the universe’s already expanding scope.
A number of new characters have appeared in the MCU as a result of the Infinity Saga’s conclusion. These include Agnes Harkness, John Walker, and Yelena Belova. Further arrivals in Eternals pave the door for Starfox to make his debut as well. With his past in Marvel Comics, it’s possible that his entry will alter the balance of power in the franchise. Because he lacked Thanos’ Deviant DNA, Thanos’ brother was never a Mad Titan. Eros, on the other hand, appears to be a regular Eternal.
Starfox has all of the fundamental Eternal powers, such as the ability to fire energy blasts. He possesses superhuman strength, healing, and flying skills, as well as the ability to process cosmic energy, which extends his life. He also has heroic durability. Then there are the other powers that Eros possesses in Marvel Comics.
For instance, the ability to psionically trigger a person’s pleasure centers in their brains! In other words, he has the ability to manipulate someone’s emotions in order to make them more receptive to anything he wants. This makes him far more dangerous than Thanos was.
If Starfox joins the Avengers as he did in the comics, he’ll bring a unique set of skills to the squad that no other superhero can match. He possesses all of the best characteristics of the other heroes, including Thor’s immortality and flying, as well as Hulk’s and Captain America’s super strength. It’s safe to say that Starfox represents the cosmic race as a whole because he is an Eternal. Mantis’ primary power of hypnosis and Scarlet Witch’s from Avengers: Age of Ultron are both inspirations for his hypnotic abilities.
For the Eternals, Avengers, and Guardians, Eros embodies their best qualities. If we look at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos’ horrific struggle with the Hulk shows just how strong he is. There’s not much else to talk about, at least in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He can’t fly, and he doesn’t appear to be capable of healing himself or using psionics.
As a result of these factors, the introduction of Starfox into the MCU could fundamentally alter the existing power dynamics. Aside from that, he’s shown time and time again that he can rise to the occasion when the occasion demands it. If another great threat like Thanos arises, the Avengers will know they can depend on him.
