After a long wait, live-action Star Wars has finally returned to our world with The Book of Boba Fett. The iconic bounty hunter has returned in the middle of a career change.

In season 2 of The Mandalorian, we saw Boba Fett take over Jabba the Hutt’s throne as the newest crime lord of the desert planet Tatooine, and thanks to his new position, along with his new way of doing things, he is all set to draw attention to himself in the galaxy’s criminal underworld.

It should be noted that The Book of Boba Fett isn’t just Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau’s second Disney+ show, it’s also the second one for Ludwig Göransson. He is the composer for The Mandalorian, and his new theme for the anti-hero is currently making waves online.

Fans who are expecting to see The Book of Boba Fett continue The Mandalorian’s tradition of adding cameos will be happy to note that Göransson’s theme supports that theory. In fact, it hints at who is supposedly going to show up next.

You need to know that Ludwig Göransson’s theme for The Book of Boba Fett isn’t even entirely his own. At a point, a theme from previous Star Wars movies with both the criminal and Dark Side connections can be heard.

This could imply that Boba will be seeing familiar faces in his new show. At around 1:49 mins into Göransson’s theme, the Crimson Dawn theme (last heard during 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story) can be heard.

This was first composed by John Powell with the franchise’s original composer, the legendary John Williams.

In the Solo movie, Crimson Dawn is Darth Maul’s Crime Syndicate. Later on, Qi’ra (played by Emilia Clarke), Han Solo’s love interest and childhood friend took over the organization after she killed Dryden Vos.

As per the Star Wars timeline, The Book of Boba Fett takes place at a time when Maul has been killed by Kenobi on Tatooine. So Qi’ra might very well be the present head of the crime syndicate.

Will The Crimson Dawn Return?

Boba Fett and Qi'ra

For years, fans of the franchise have been speculating Qi’ra return to the galaxy either in the movies or on Disney+. Now, since the Crimson Dawn theme is a part of The Book of Boba Fett’s main theme, so this seems like a guarantee.

If this happens, then it would make all the sense from a storytelling point of view. After all, even though Maul is currently dead, but he was still clearly important for the Mandalorians, and Boba Fett has confirmed this. Also, he died on the desert planet of Tatooine, where Boba Fett now rules.

So, if Boba Fett wants to maintain his new position, he will obviously have to get ready for competition. As such, having Maul’s Crimson Dawn as one of his enemies makes sense. Not to mention that Boba and Qi’ra have one thing in common- Han Solo.

In the original Star Wars trilogy, Boba delivered Han Solo to Jabba the Hutt in carbonite before Han led him to his presumed death in the Sarlaac pit.

It should be noted that Boba and Qi’ra have crossed paths in the Marvel comics’ War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha.

So maybe this comic was just laying the groundwork for what we would see between these two characters? Who knows, maybe Qi’ra will be a villain for the Boba Fett show.

Also, Emilia Clarke has expressed her desire to come back to the franchise and the character. So this would allow the actress to return to the role too.

You can catch new episodes of The Book of Boba Fett every Wednesday on Disney+.
