Rudy Mancuso takes on the role of Albert Desmond, previously portrayed by Tom Felton in The CW’s The Flash Season 3. In the Arrowverse, Felton’s portrayal depicted Dr. Julian Albert Desmond as a historian and former crime scene investigator (CSI) at the Central City Police Department (CCPD). Due to the events of Flashpoint, Julian served as Barry Allen’s senior lab tech and became a valuable member of Team Flash after overcoming mind control by Savitar.
Saoirse-Monica Jackson portrays Patty Spivot, originally played by Shantel VanSanten in CW’s The Flash Season 2. In the Arrowverse, VanSanten’s Patty Spivot was a former police detective at the CCPD and Barry Allen’s love interest. Their relationship ended when Patty discovered Barry’s secret identity as the Flash. However, she proved her suspicions correct when the speedster saved her life, leading to their amicable separation.

While the exact roles of Patty Spivot and Albert Desmond in The Flash movie remain unknown, the released stills suggest significant deviations from their Arrowverse counterparts. It is likely that Jackson’s Spivot and Mancuso’s Desmond will serve as colleagues of Barry Allen in the CCPD’s crime scene investigation department.
The presence of Kiersey Clemons’ Iris West in the movie raises questions about Spivot’s role as a love interest for Barry. Alternatively, Spivot may fulfill the role of one of Barry’s closest friends, offering advice on his relationship with Iris.
Desmond, on the other hand, could be Barry’s friendly workplace rival rather than an antagonist. Their dynamic may provide a lighthearted element to the story.
