HBO’s “The Last of Us” has gripped viewers with its amazing storytelling and attention to details. Fans of the show have managed to dig out a tonne of little details in episode 2, titled, “Infected.” But here are the 3 details they missed in the new episode. So let us tell you about them:
1. Ellie Holds A Knife While Sleeping
When Bella Ramsey’s Ellie is curled up in a fetal position and sleeping on a patch of grass, she has a knife in her hand. This is probably to ensure that she can protect herself in the event something goes wrong when she wakes up.
Thankfully, she didn’t have to use it because Joel and Tess were watching her the whole night. Although they were watching her for a different reason- to ensure that she doesn’t turn into an infected.
2. Ellie Is The Hope For The World
In the same scene as above, when she is sleeping in the fetal position, she looks like an unborn baby in a womb. The light shining on her from above depicts her in a mystical or holy light.
While Tess and Joel are sitting in the dark, she’s in light. It symbolizes that she’s the only hope in the darkness everyone else is engulfed in. It is her birth that has ushered in a new era where humanity could be free of the infection. Butterflies have also been used to depict this same idea with Ellie.
3. 1 Minute
At the end of the The Last of Us episode 2 when Joel knows that the infected runners are coming for him, Ellie and Tess, he says that they have about a minute before all of them will barge in. Turns out he is right.
If you time the episode after Joel says it, exactly a minute later the infected reach where the trio are. Joel’s years of experience dealing with the infected probably makes him this accurate about their arrival time.
