Giancarlo Esposito plays Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian, and recently he shared an interesting new tidbit regarding Grogu at GalaxyCon, which will raise eyebrows.

His character Moff Gideon was a former officer in the Imperial Security Bureau of the Empire. He led a team of Imperial remnants and has spent the last two seasons trying to get Grogu for his experiments. Also, he used the Darksaber, which once belonged to the only Mandalorian Jedi. In Mandalorian society, it’s considered to be an essential artifact. Anyone who wields the Darksaber is effectively the ruler of the planet.

Din Djarin and his cohorts last captured Moff Gideon after freeing Grogu from Gideon’s clutches in the second season’s finale. Esposito plays a villainous character, but he is very soft-spoken in person. And he showed it during a con while also revealing some new information about Grogu.

In a newly released video from GalaxyCon in Raleigh, NC, by WRAL, a young fan can be seen giving a stuffed Baby Yoda toy to the actor, which he gladly accepts. After that, he tells the fan:

“I love this Baby Yoda. I am going to get this child, and it’s for a very different reason than many people think. This child has magic powers … and this child can see the future, and we want everyone to know eventually on this show that this child could save our universe.”

Till now, we have seen that despite his young age, Baby Yoda has a considerable mastery of the Force. But the news that he can see the future is certainly something new. And it could change the entire franchise.

There’s Precedence For Baby Yoda Having These Powers

If Grogu did possess this power, it wouldn’t have come out of anywhere. Yoda, too, was profoundly prophetic during the Star Wars movies. Since Grogu comes from the same species, it would make sense if he shares the same powers.

Grogu will most probably come back in season 3 of The Mandalorian. After all, he is a prevalent character, and audiences will want to know what he is up to. So we may get some hints regarding the powers at some point in the show.

The Book of Boba Fett is due for release this month. Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen will reprise their roles as Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. Filming on season 3 of The Mandalorian is already underway.

However, Pedro Pascal is currently not on sets of Mando. Instead, he is still filming HBO’s The Last of Us series. But that won’t stop filming since Mando is almost always with his helmet. So they can use body-doubles and stunt actors when the character is with his helmet. Once Pedro comes back, he can add his voice and film any non-helmeted scenes.

Esposito is also supposed to return as Gideon in the show’s third season. The actor has promised fans that they will see more of his character. But apart from this, not much is known about season 3 of The Mandalorian, although fans speculate a lot about the clash between Mando and Bo-Katan Kryze. Overall, for now, it is a wait-and-watch game.
